Big Sean & Metro Boomin, Pull Up N Wreck © Republic / Def JamBig Sean and Metro Boomin, assisted by 21 Savage, collaborate for an enjoyable, well-rounded banger, “Pull Up N Wreck.”

Big Sean is cocky and confident throughout the course of “Pull Up N Wreck,” a collaborative single with Metro Boomin, featuring 21 Savage. So, with Sean being cocky and confident, what’s new? On the first verse, he’s slick with his wordplay, relating numerous things to cars. Among highlights of this wordplay is when he asserts, “Doing 106, then Park like I’m in my yard (sideways).” He also references sex – again, what’s new? The chorus is infectious – it’s no ‘trainwreck.’

“I know some east side n*ggas and they love to bang / Know some west side n*ggas like to do the same thing / Pull up and wreck, pull up and wreck / Pull up and wreck, pull up and wreck.”

21 Savage arrives on the second verse, and he’s not playing around.

“I ain’t taking disrespect, lil n*gga (straight up) / Put a couple holes in your neck, lil n*gga (God).”

21 Savage, like Big Sean, references sex.  Additionally, he spits about material things (a Bentley Mulsanne) and of course, violence (“This glock gon’ knock a n*gga down like Tyson (gang, gang)”). Big Sean returns for the third verse, referencing balling, Golden Eye, and connect the dots.  In regards to Metro Boomin, he stitches up the track soundly with sleek, malicious production work.  We expect no less from the incredibly popular hip-hop producer.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Big Sean and Metro Boomin, assisted by 21 Savage, deliver a hit. “Pull Up N Wreck” isn’t the second coming, but it’s well executed by all means.  Catchy, filled with swag, and enjoyable, the hip-hop trio ‘put in work.’
