Bhad Bhabie, Bestie [Photo Credit: B.H.A.D. Music]The ‘Cash Me Outside’ bad girl, Danielle Bregoli aka Bhad Bhabie, taps Kodak Black for another substance-less rap single, “Bestie.”

“Cash me outside” is the gift that keeps on giving… SAID NO ONE EVER.  Rephrasing the opening statement, “Cash me outside” – Danielle Bregoli aka Bhad Bhabie – is the annoyance that just won’t go away.  I’m not sure if we have Dr. Phil to blame for the viral sensation of Bhad Bhabie, or merely the fact that someone bought into her rap skills.  Regardless, Bregoli doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, and she’s dropped a brand-new single, “Bestie,” assisted by Kodak Black.  Can you say, polarizing collaboration?

The good regarding “Bestie.” First and foremost, Bhad Bhabie keeps things short. “Bestie” clocks in at only two minutes and 20 seconds, and that is ample length by all means.  Arguably, if you’re looking for other bright spots, look to the minimalist, clubby production work, the catchy (if utterly annoying) hook, and perhaps even the fact that Kodak Black sounds clear and understandable on his guest verse.  That sounds like a lot of positives, and maybe it is, but there’s also plenty of negatives, keeping it real.

Let’s start with a potential pro that also doubles as a con.  The hook by Bhad Bhabie is shallow AF, and there’s no sugarcoating it.

“Go bitch, go bitch, go bestie

Can’t fuck with these hoes ‘cause they messy

Go bestie, that my muh-fuckin’ best friend…”

Ugh. Kodak Black may have the gift of vocal clarity on his side (for once), but does he say much? Hell no.  Furthermore, Bhad Bhabie doesn’t suddenly become profound on the second verse, which is all flex and no depth whatsoever.  “Make the whole club jump like Kriss Kross?” C’mon Danielle!

Final Thoughts

“Bestie,” again, has some pros. Still, this brief record suffers from the same fate that so much modern music, particular rap, suffers from.  The pleasure is only temporary.  Ultimately, if you consider “Bestie” to give you a jolt of satisfaction, well, it won’t last.
