Innuendo? More like full-on sexual vibes! Welcome to After Dark 🕛 🌃, a column featuring songs that are best suited for nighttime, specifically, the bedroom.  Many of the records featured here raise eyebrows, as well as the temperature! These After Dark tunes focus on the universal three-letter word:  SEX. The dark records gracing After Dark are old and new alike, with all genres of music welcome.  In the 59th edition of After Dark (2022), we explore the naughty, risqué, & sexual vibes behind, 🎵 “THIQUE” by 🎙 Beyoncé.

Theme & Lyrics

daaayum“Ass getting bigger / Racks getting bigger / Cash getting larger.” Ooh, wee, 🎙 Beyoncé! The 🏆 Grammy winner commences 🎵 “THIQUE”, one of many gems from her 2022 album, 💿 RENAISSANCE, with a bang.  Any time your first lyric is ass, well, the song is likely going to be quite a trip!  She’s blunt AF, and at this point, would we have Queen Bey any other way? She’s practically synonymous with what we love about After Dark 🕛 🌃! In the chorus, she further amplifies the sex:

“He thought he was loving me good, I told him, ‘Go harder’

She thought she was killing that shit, I told her, ‘Go harder’

Just look at this alkaline wrist ‘cause I got that water

Ass getting thicker

Cash getting thicker (Thicker, thicker).”

Sure, those lyrics regarding size aren’t purely sexual, but there’s no doubt that when sexual innuendo and suggestiveness are an option, you use them!  There’s no doubt that Beyoncé puts emphasis on booty (“Say she on a diet, girl, you better not lose that ass”). “THIQUE” evolves into more of a dance cut like the majority of RENAISSANCE. Regardless of the shift, there’s more explicitness! A prime example: “Boy, you crazy, body mean, back it up like limousine / You gotta make a fold out to fit a magazine, right…” So, big dick energy, right?

Final Thoughts 💭

Bitmoji ImageBeyoncé knows how to raise eyebrows, particularly in her last trio of albums. She exudes confidence on 🎵 “THIQUE”, with a focus on body and drip.  The main focus of the body is – wait for it –  A$$, but there’s also a reference to the D.  “THIQUE” is risqué, but totally entertaining.
