“I’m a grown woman / I can do whatever I want.” HELL YES you can, 🎙 Beyoncé! Honestly, can Queen Bey do any wrong? Of course, she can’t! 🎵 “Grown Woman” is a 10-year-old song.  The release of this five-minute-plus juggernaut (as an audio track) coincides with the 10-year-anniversary of her visual album, 💿 BEYONCÉ.  Previously, “Grown Woman” was only available as a music video.  Beyoncé produced “Grown Woman” alongside 🎛 Timbaland and J-Roc.  With Timbo and J-Roc behind the boards, the production is lit.

The backdrop is creative, picturesque, and rhythmic to the nth degree. Part of that creativity is the word music influence, specifically African/Afrobeat.  Beyond the instrumental, Beyoncé serves up exuberant, spirited vocals. “Look at me, I’m a big girl now / Said I’m gon’ do somethin’,” she asserts in the first verse, continuing, “Told the world I would paint this town / Now betcha I run this.” Ooh-wee! Besides those commanding lead vocals, and the feminine, strong lyrics, the harmonized background vocals are a selling point, too.  It’s great that 🎵 “Grown Woman” can finally be streamed and downloaded beyond its music video format.  It only took 10 years, but, better late than never to be a grown woman, right? Right!
