Benjamin Elgar, Shameless [📷: Benjamin Elgar]“Long distance love got me / Shameless how I text you / Shameless how I miss you / Shameless how I’m wanting you.” Benjamin Elgar wants him badly. That, my friends, is an understatement.  On “Shameless” the fresh-faced, ascending pop artist has no shame. He’s transparent about his feelings and NOTHING will stop him.  This sleek bop was written and produced by Elgar, John Ho, and The Last Artful, Dodgr (Alana Chenevert).  Running two minutes and change, you’ll shamelessly have this song on repeat.

What makes “Shameless” the sugar honey iced tea? Benjamin Elgar possesses a fantastic, magical voice. His sound is clear, pure, and youthful – it stands out the moment you hear it.  The melodies are rhythmic and tuneful.  Elgar sings through them effortlessly with ample swagger.  Despite his shameless ways, his angelic tone sounds innocent, even when he sneaks in an f-bomb:

pride heart burst“Knowing all the things

That we done been through

What I do for you

What you do for me

I can’t explain that on CD

Stuck on repeat

Just you and me

And everyone we fuckin’.”

Oh, Benjamin! In this R&B-infused pop cut with some glorious, harmonized background vocals,  Elgar is all about his boo. He says it best himself: “Though he’s somewhere over the seas / Still love him endlessly / There’s NOTHING in between us / Long distance love / Got me Shameless.”
