2014 was a big year for West Coast rapper ScHoolboy Q. After two quiet studio albums, Q exploded on the scene with OxymoronOxymoron used “ice cold” January sales to its advantage, debuting at no. 1 and selling 139,000 copies.  The key word is sell.  Albums don’t sell anymore, at least most of them.  That’s the case with Q’s fourth album, Blank Face LP, which misses the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

It’s understandable why Blank Face LP settles for second fiddle. For one, it only moved 74,000 units.  Secondly, the power of Drake (Views) was too much, even in a week where Drake’s numbers are down. Besides the re-ascension of Drake and the bridesmaid status of ScHoolboy Q, there are plenty of other grooves on the Billboard 200 for the chart dated July 30, 2016.
