BB Grooves: Rihanna Reclaims No. 1 On The Billboard 200

Cutting right to the chase, it was an extremely slow week on the Billboard 200. Because of this, Rihanna benefited – no shade of course! On the charts dated April 2, 2016, Rihanna spends a second nonconsecutive week at no. 1 with Anti. The numbers suck – just being honest – but somebody had to be no. 1 this week, right?

1) Rihanna’s Anti reclaims no. 1 on the Billboard 200. Amazingly, it only took 54,000 units to do so… Yep, that’s how you know albums aren’t selling!

2) Joey + Rory continues to hold serve within the top 10. Hymns ascends from no. 6 to no. 4 in week five.

3) Kendrick Lamar’s Untitled Unmastered takes a tumble from no. 1 to no. 5.

4) The highest debut on the Billboard 200 comes courtesy of Killswitch Engage’s Incarnate, which lands at no. 6.

5) Flatbush Zombies debut at no. 10 with 3001: A Laced Odyssey. Yep, we’re as shocked as everyone else who’s unfamiliar with the hip-hop collective.

6) 3 Doors Down have clearly lost their touch. Us And The Night debuts quietly at no. 14. In other words, this album flat out tanked.

7) Randy Houser’s album may be entitled Fired Up, but not too many folks were too ‘fired up’ to support him. No. 15 isn’t horrid, but it also isn’t screaming ‘platinum’ either…

8) Troye Sivan sees his Blue Neighbourhood ascend 34 spots from no. 58 to no. 24. Blue Neighbourhood has been on the charts for 15 weeks.

9) 2 Chainz’s ColleGrove slips 25 spots from no. 4 to no. 29. This album is going “down the tubes.”

10) Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Album didn’t receive the warmest reception with his solo debut Painkillers. He modestly bows at no. 30.

11) The 1975 continues its downfall with I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. The album drops eight more spots from no. 26 to no. 34 three weeks in (it debuted at no. 1)

12) Mike Posner’s The Truth reaches its highest peak position as of yet, no. 39.

13) Parachute return to the charts at no. 48 with latest album Wide Awake.

14) Jeff Buckley’s album of unreleased songs, You And I, enters the Billboard 200 at no. 58.

15) After a no. 12 bow, Granger Smith’s Remington slips 47 spots to no. 59.

16) Pete Yorn makes his ‘grand entrance’ at no. 63 with Arranging Time.

17) Bonnie Raitt slips 26 spots with Dig In Deep. It tumbles from no. 38 to no 64 in week three.

18) After returning to the charts for the first time in 12 years with a new studio album, Loretta Lynn’s Full Circle drops 53 spots from no. 19 to no. 71.

19) Tori Kelly sees her Unbreakable Smile rise from no. 112 to no. 76 – a 36 spot jump!

20) I’ve got “news…boys” (get it Newboys) – Love Riot free falls 64 spots from no. 14 to no. 78. OUCH!

21) David Bowie’s former no. 1 Blackstar drops 24 spots from no. 76 to no. 100. Blackstar has resided on the Billboard 200 for 10 weeks.

22) Wiz Khalifa hasn’t had a great run with Khalifa, which has spent six weeks on the charts and currently sits at no. 138.

23) Anthrax’s For All Kings started off great at no. 9, but has proceeded to plummet to no. 72 and this week no. 141.

24) AURORA debuts at no. 150 with All My Demons Greet Me As A Friend.

25) Christon Gray’s The Glory Album nabs a spot on the Billboard 200 at no. 157.
