“Save me, I’ve been looking for some safety / And I don’t know you yet, but maybe / Your touch could bring me back to life.” Ah, maybe! New York-based singer/songwriter Austin Marquez has a vision of love on his single, “The One”. Initially, he’s backed by a colorful and cool instrumental, supporting his love endeavors.  The handsome, talented musician sings radiantly, serving up a calm, cool, and collected vocal. Marquez penned “The One” alongside Carson Rammelt with positive results

During this section, the vocal arrangement is marvelous.  Furthermore, the chorus signals a shift from the cooler beginnings of the track to a heavier sound incorporating a punchy, danceable groove.

“I think that you could be the one

To take me off this broken road

I think that you could be the one

The fix that I’ve been waiting for

Got you in my sight and now I see paradise

You could be the one, you could be the one.”

Thematically, “The One” encompasses falling in love and being open to love.  That is incredibly relatable and never grows old.  I love the repetition of the chorus towards the end, keeping the passion turnt up.  Repetition of the word, paradise, and big sounds cap off “The One”, a marvelous offering by Marquez.
