Prepare to beam with P-R-I-D-E! Beaming with Pride celebrates, embraces, and spotlights songs by LGBTQ musicians or allies.  Here, we provide background and insight into musicians, analyze, plus go gaga over the decadent bops served up.  When songs dictate deeper and more transcendent discussion, we ensure the point is fully articulated.  All styles of music are welcome, whether the songs are classics or brand-new. So, without further ado, in the 22nd edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “gold” performed by Asbjørn and La Boum Fatale.

“I’ll sniff your armpit, don’t ask me why / I’d like to fuck your brains out, but I am too shy.”
Um, excuse me 😳? Come again? Danish singer-songwriter Asbjørn (Asbjørn Toftdahl Terkelsen) and German musician La Boum Fatale (Antonio de Spirt) join forces for a golden opportunity via their single, “gold”. “Gold” appears on the HAUSPARTY EP, released in May 2026. As the excerpted lyrics suggest, “gold” is risqué and unapologetic. Asbjørn characterizes the lyrics as the ‘horniest lyric I’ve ever written, with a pinch of compulsive oversharing.’ Woo! Via Bandcamp, describing the record, ‘the narrator is craving connection but can’t quite read the social codes.’ Terkelsen composed “gold.” He produced alongside de Spirt.

While the lyrics are sexual, they are also left field, such as “I’ll order in, and you’ll eat me out / The I will read you Dinotopia as a goodbye.” Eating ass and Dinotopia are 🤪! Rawr 🦖! But when you are horny, particularly when you’re gay and lonely, sometimes, you do and say wild things.

“You want my body count

It’s not impressive

I love to cuddle

Don’t know my fetish

I’ll let you in if you help me out

But don’t come near the ticklish spot on my left thigh.”

Word. Most importantly, Asbjørn’s goal: “I hope I strike gold.” Hopefully, somewhere, sniffing armpits, and wanting to “fuck your brains out,” he physically strikes gold.  Until then, “gold”, a striking, two-minute cut is a surefire banger of a collab between Asbjørn and La Boum Fatale.
