English pop singer/songwriter Artemas continues to excel at horny, naughty, sexy, and steamy vibes on “test drive.”
“So, put some faith in me and we’ll get married for the night / Only I can feed the flame that’s burnin’ in your eyes.” Oh, snap, Artemas. The English pop singer/songwriter continues singing in the tuneful chorus of “test drive”, “No one has to know the things that make you lose your mind / Put some faith in me, I’ll take you for a test drive.” When Artemas is at his horniest, he is often at his best. “Test drive,” which he wrote and produced with Daintree, is no exception.
There is lots to ‘heart’ about “test drive.” It benefits from its darker sound and electronic, hip-hop-driven production palette. The beat is sickening, NO CAP! It benefits from a great harmonic progression. It is nothing too crazy but it catches the ear. Vocally, Artemas excels with his chilly, falsetto vocals. His instrument features various effects, most notably, reverb. To reiterate, like many of his songs, “test drive” is sexually charged, which ‘makes you feel things.’ The tuneful chorus excerpted above, marks one of the biggest selling points with its memorable lyrics and melody. Still, the verse and bridge ‘catch the ear too.’ “You’re lookin’ for somebody that can fill the void,” he sings in the verse, adding, “I can be that for you, I can keep touchin’ you.” Damn! Later, in the bridge, he asserts, “All your fantasies, all your little secrets / Let me take the lead / I can make you scream all night long.” I bet you can, Artemas. “Test drive” reminds me of a The Weeknd song, with its sexual script and ripe tenor/falsetto-laden vocals. It is a surefire vibe for an artist who ‘kills it’ when it comes to ‘soundtracking’ the bedroom.
