“Let me go down, see how it taste / Rolling around, all tangled up, all over the place.” Safe to say, the temperature’s rising! Cali-based, Midwest-bred pop singer Anthony Russo keeps it sexy on his slick single, “Can’t Go Wrong.” Russo continues to be an artist on the rise.  Following a groovy collaboration with his former tour mate, G-Eazy (“Rewind”), Russo continues to ‘bring the heat’… and of course sex. One thing’s for sure – you “can’t go wrong” with this record.

The sound of “Can’t Go Wrong” is a blend of pop, urban contemporary, and electronic – very suiting for Russo.  Vocally, he continues to impress with his sweet, youthful set of pipes.  While sex is clearly on his mind (“…Your legs in the air, we messing around”), he also devotes plenty of time to love itself, evidenced by the chorus:

“Oh, won’t you open up to me my love?

Unlock and throw away the key my love

My momma told me how to treat my love (my love)

Whatever you want it to be my love, it’s gon’ be my love

You can say what you want when you want ‘cause you can’t go wrong

How does it feel? What are you on?”

There’s even more dedication on the bridge:

“The day I met you was a dream

Most beautiful I’d ever seen

And now I finally felt complete

I swear that I could never leave

I won’t leave, I won’t leave.”

Final Thoughts

Once again, there’s so much to love about Anthony Russo – he’s chocked-full of potential.  “Can’t Go Wrong” may not revolutionize urban-pop, but it’s another strong offering from a musician who deserves more buzz than he’s received as of yet.  Hopefully, Russo’s come-up – his breakout moment – isn’t too far away.
