Rising artists Andre Rose, Osborne, and Sugi Dakks highlight the inaugural edition of the new, rising, and up-and-coming music column, ‘Music from Rising Stars.’

The goal of column Music from Rising Stars is to spread the news about new, rising, and up-and-coming artists, bands, and music that people need to know about.  In the inaugural edition of the newest column on The Musical Hype, we highlight awesome new music courtesy of Miami rapper Andre Rose, British singer/songwriter Osborne,and California hip-hop artist/jazz pianist Sugi Dakks.

1. Andre Rose, “Mayweather”

Miami rapper Andre Rose, who’s had aspirations for a music career beginning at the age of 9, drops a banger with “Mayweather.”Described as a strip club/club/party song, “Mayweather” celebrates the ever-formidable boxer, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.  Rose delivers his bars with mad energy over busy, bombastic, minor-key production.

2. Osborne, “Complete” (Lucky Rose Remix)

British singer/songwriter Osborne (full name Richard Osborne) delivers chill, easy-going vocals on the soulful, electro-pop joint “Complete (Lucky Rose Remix).” Osborne comes from a musical background, with R&B/soul roots, and notably has collaborated with Dice Raw of The Roots, along with British artists Mic Righteous and Scorcher. Canada-based producer Lucky Rose serves up a sleek remix that’s ready-made for the dance floor.  “Complete” chocked full of brightness.

3. Sugi Dakks, “Stay”

Gifted to the nth degree might be the best way to describe Sugi Dakks, the brainchild of Kyle Donald. Donald produces, raps, sings, and is a college graduate in jazz piano performance. Bottle up all those talents and influences, and the Los Angeles-based musician brings plenty of freshness to the table.  On March 30, he released his debut mixtape, The Business. “Stay,” featuring Peach Fumes, our featured track, appears on the project.   The sound of the single blends the best of the ‘progressive’ West Coast sound (the Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak is quite perceptible), alternative R&B, jazz,  and jazz-rap. The innovative spirit makes “Stay” a must-hear.
