T
he release of An Vedi’s latest album, ‘ConTempoRary Violin‘, highlights her unique qualities. It is an album that comprises solo violin performances spanning a wide variety of terrain within the classical realms from years gone by all the way up to the present day.‘ConTempoRary Violin‘ features 17 tracks, each leaving a distinct impression on the listener’s mind. The first eight tracks on the album are dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach, and An Vedi manages to pay tribute to Bach in each of these pieces. Vedi is also able to preserve the original atmosphere which Bach initially introduced while also deftly adding her own mark to the experience.
The album then makes a direct jump forward in time by more than three hundred years to the present day with beautiful renditions of classics that have been made famous by some of the most sought-after composers in the world today. The voyage is unique, and it is not every day, an album quite like this one, with quite as much creative enthusiasm as this one, climbs to the forefront of the scene.
An Vedi infuses her work with enthusiasm, and the result is a tangible passion that immediately captures the listeners’ attention. She also demonstrates that sometimes there is no need to overcomplicate classical music; in fact, the violin instrument is enough to produce a long-lasting memory.
