Scanning the Charts β Billboard 200 & Billboard Hot 100 (10/3/20) β Alicia Keys debuts at no. 4 with her seventh studio album, Alicia.
SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is. I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye. To reiterate what I said last week (YoungBoy Never Broke Again Tops with Top), this column wonβt be extensive, but rather short and sweet, keeping that moving. This week, I picked out five notable observations from the Billboard 200, and five observations from the Billboard Hot 100, with Alicia Keys debuts at no. 4 with her seventh studio album, Alicia.
Billboard 200
Taylor Swift returns to a familiar spot on the Billboard 200. Thatβs right, Swift spends her seventh nonconsecutive week at no. 1 with folklore, making history in the process.
After topping the charts last week, YoungBoy Never Broke Again sees Top slip from no. 1 to no. 3 in its second week.
Alicia Keys debuts at no. 4 with her seventh studio album, Alicia. Alicia, originally scheduled for a March 2020 release, was ultimately delayed until September 2020.
Besides Keysβ Alicia, there are three more debuts in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Moneybagg Yo & Blac Youngsta see their collaborative project Code Red launch at no. 6. Keith Urban starts one spot behind them with The Speed of Now, Part 1. Lil Tecca is the final newbie to the top 10 with Virgo World, which starts at no. 10.
Spread throughout the remainder of the Billboard 200 are various debuts. Toosie launches at no. 17 with Poetic Pain. Ava Max experiences Heaven & Hell at no. 27. Tyler Childers reveals his Long Violent History at no. 45, the final debut within the top quarter of the chart.
Billboard Hot 100
BTS returns to no. 1, spending a third no consecutive week at no. 1 with βDynamiteβ. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion slip from no. 1 to no. 2 with βWAPβ.
Justin Bieber debuts at no. 3 with βHolyβ, featuring Chance The Rapper.

In addition to his top 10 album, Lil Tecca sees a couple of singles debut on the Hot 100 including βDolly,β featuring Lil Uzi Vert at no. 80.
