Pop singer/songwriter/producer Alex Angelo makes those pesky matters of the heart sound sweet on his brief but potent single, “You Go First.”
“S omebody’s gotta break, make the lines look blurred / But the only way it works is if you go first.” So, what’s pop singer/songwriter/producer 🎙 Alex Angelo getting at in the chorus of 🎵 “You Go First”? Matters of the heart, of course! In this brief but potent pop joint, reconciliation is on Alex’s mind. He wants her and he’s been trying to contain himself, growing impatient and restless, but essentially, the ball is in her court 🏀.
“Are you missing me? Is the proximity making you anxious,” he sings at the end of the first verse, continuing, “‘Cause it’s messing with me, the possibilities of one conversation / I’m losing my patience.” In the second verse, he wants her to come over, “Say we should do all the shit we haven’t done lately.” It all amounts to reconnecting, and from his perspective, she needs to make the move. Besides entertaining and relatable lyrics, Alex Angelo sings well. Furthermore, the sound of 🎵 “You Go First” is firmly planted in pop – slick and well produced. Given it’s brevity, there’s not a lot of song but Angelo makes his point loud and clear, in entertaining fashion which is a win for the Cleveland born and bred, Nashville-based musician.
