Despite getting too geeked for pleasure, Denver hip-hop artist Alec King exhibits a laid-back, potent flow on short, but sweet “Dangerous.”
Cutting straight to the chase, because you know you want to know – who is Alec King? Fantastic question! King is a hip-hop artist from Denver, Colorado. Furthermore, he’s never made an appearance on The Musical Hype, so, it’s time to give him some love. What better opportunity than single, “Dangerous,” his first new single of 2020!
Alec King keeps things short on “Dangerous.” No problem whatsoever! Despite just inching past two-and-a-half minutes in durations, it’s pretty sweet in a number of ways. Beginning with the production, it’s interesting by all means, thanks to Boston. “Dangerous” is built on an absolutely infectious bass synth loop, coupled with relatively simple, yet potent, anchoring drum programming. Basically, what I’m trying to say is, King has a banging backdrop to spit over.
That leads to Alexander King himself, in all his glory. He’s not the least bit deep when it comes to the rhymes on “Dangerous,” but his approach to rapping is impressive. His delivery is laid back and pretty chill, while he still manages to bring some ‘stank’ with his risqué, unapologetic bars. The unapologetic vibes start with the first verse, where a reference to her “big mouth” can only go south, literally! King makes it known he enjoys being ‘serviced’ on the pre-chorus, and he isn’t looking for anything deep beyond, um, the throat:
“Why these bitches doin’ the most Typin’ all these stupid inspirational quotes That don’t have anything to do with the post I just wanna paint the inside of your throat.”
Final Thoughts
For Alec King’s first time… on The Musical Hype, well, he’s pretty damn “Dangerous” alright. Horny, thinking with his pants, if you enjoy ample references to oral sex, well, King is your guy. Even if you don’t, and you find “Dangerous” to be overkill, there are lots of positives to take away from him, particularly his flow.
