Alec Benjamin, Death of a Hero [Photo Credit: Alec Benjamin]Rising pop singer/songwriter Alec Benjamin delivers a tour de force with his authentic, superbly written single, “Death of a Hero.”

“I tried to help but he said he was just too far from saving.” That’s definitely not good… Amazingly, Alec Benjamin was once dropped by a major record label… what a total mistake. The Arizona pop singer/songwriter is a ‘one-of-a-kind’ artist that not enough folks are buzzing about.  He’s been on a hot streak in 2018 (“Let Me Down Slowly” and “If We Have Each Other” among them), and just when you don’t think he can outdo himself, he goes and does it. “Death of a Hero” just might be his best record to date.

What makes “Death of a Hero” magnificent is the fact that Benjamin is incredibly authentic, expressing his disappointment with a role model.  We assume our role models to be saintly.  Then, what do they do? Disappoint us, forcing us to regroup and rethink everything.  Here, Benjamin’s “Superman” exhibits his unflattering side, and the image of his hero is forever tarnished.

Final Thoughts

Don’t sleep on Alec Benjamin.  He’s one of the most talented artists that very few people are talking about.  Hopefully, they get a whiff of “Death of a Hero,” and that elevates his underrated profile.
