~ Album Reviews ๐Ÿ’ฟ ~

Ah, welcome to the page that is dedicated solely to album & EP ๐Ÿ’ฟ reviews. LPs and EPs of various styles are evaluated in this section of The Musical Hype โ€“ we donโ€™t discriminate. Album reviews are also available on the home page. More often than not, the album reviews on the site tend to follow a track-by-track format, commencing with an intro paragraph comprised of background information, and concluding paragraph that wraps things up. Also, GEMS โ€“ the best, highly recommended tracks โ€“ are selected at the end of each review. Each album also receives a star rating, on a scale of 0 โ€“ 5 (ยฝ stars are used as well), that is visible at the beginning and ending of the review.

5 out of 5 stars = MASTERPIECE

4.5 out of 5 stars = NEAR MASTERPIECE

4 out of 5 stars = EXCELLENT

3.5 out of 5 stars = VERY GOOD

3 out of 5 stars = AVERAGE / GOOD

2.5 out of 5 stars = BELOW AVERAGE

2 out of 5 stars = MEDIOCRE

1.5 out of 5 stars, 1 out of 5 stars, 0.5 out of 5 stars, 0 out of 5 stars = BAD

It should not come as a surprise to see the analysis run north of, say, 1000 words. So, music enthusiasts everywhere โ€“ Musical Hypeians worldwide โ€“ get your fix of album reviews down below!!!

Tyler, the Creator, Wolf | Album Review

While his sophomore album โ€˜Wolfโ€™ is still โ€˜rough around the edges,โ€™ Tyler, the Creator packages the album more responsibly than 'Goblin.'

Lil Wayne, I Am Not a Human Being II | Album Review

โ€˜I Am Not a Human Being IIโ€™ is a good Lil Wayne album, not an elite one. Sometimes heโ€™s โ€˜on,โ€™ while other times, he's less inspired, recycling past ideas.

Charlie Wilson, Love Charlie | Album Review

Following an illustrious career, with nothing to prove, veteran R&B musician Charlie Wilson delivers a solid R&B affair on his 2013 LP, โ€˜Love Charlie.โ€™

Conor Maynard, Contrast | Album Review ๐Ÿ’ฟ

British pop artist Conor Maynard puts the Justin Bieber comparisons to rest on his enjoyable, suggestive debut album, 'Contrast.'

No Doubt, Push and Shove | Album Review

No Doubt returns after an 11-year hiatus between studio albums. โ€˜Push and Shoveโ€™ serves as the bandโ€™s follow-up to Rock Steady, which bowed in 2001.

Green Day, ยกUno! | Album Review

Overall, '!Uno!' Is a solid and sound effort from Green Day. It accomplishes its purposes to resurrect the bandโ€™s punk roots.

Lupe Fiasco, Food & Liquor II | Album Review

โ€˜Food & Liquor IIโ€™ is another strong album by Lupe Fiasco that relies more on critical success as opposed to commercial aspiration.

Angie Stone, Rich Girl | Album Review

On Rich Girl, neo-soul veteran Angie Stone delivers a consistent, good album that never quite reaches the status of a great album.

Mumford & Sons, Babel | Album Review

'Babel,' the highly-anticipated sophomore album from Mumford & Sons, gives them a solid, but not necessarily innovative album.

DMX, Undisputed | Album Review

Once ubiquitous rapper DMX releases Undisputed, his first studio effort since 2006. He was once a force on the East coast rap scene.
