he upcoming singer-songwriter AJ Whyte, who hails from Rutland in the United Kingdom, has released his first single under the moniker ‘You Won’t Hear Me‘. Whyte hits the ground running here with this track, which features a unique quality that immediately resonated with us when we pressed the play button for the first time.‘You Won’t Hear Me‘ starts with a guitar lead with an indie-folk sound as it picks away at it. After that, AJ explodes into the spotlight by delivering a vocal performance that is open and reflective. He has a natural talent for singing, and in his songs, he explores life, from memories of the past to the feelings of the present. His narrative is captivating, and it is wonderful to see how well he can resonate with his audience.
The chorus has a ramping up of the intensity of the music, with the guitars becoming more piercing and an additional layer of vocals arriving to lend even more depth to the already strong vocal. The track remains within an acoustic environment for its whole, and despite the absence of any drum rhythm, it nonetheless possesses a robust auditory palette that generates a significant amount of stereo chasm.
It is clear that AJ has drawn subtle suggestions from some of the best performers in this genre, as evidenced by the fact that the track contains elements that are reminiscent of Bob Dylan’s work. Despite this, he does not explicitly imitate anything else and maintains his unique identity while remaining faithful to the foundations other artists have established in the past.
