Scanning the Charts (12/15/21):  Adele spends a third week at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 and a seventh week atop the Hot 100.

ell, SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is.  I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye. This column isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet.  This week, I picked out 5 notable observations from the Billboard 200 📉,  and 5 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 📉, with 🎙 Adele remaining no. 1 on both charts (three weeks and seven weeks respectively).

Billboard 200 📉 

💭 🎙 Adele sees 💿 30 spend a third consecutive week atop the Billboard 200.

💭 The highest debut on the Billboard 200 arrives courtesy of rapper 🎙 Nardo Wick.  💿 Who is Nardo Wick? Launches at no. 19.

💭 🎙 Kelly Clarkson sees her second Christmas album, 💿 When Christmas Comes Around… ascend 20 spots from no. 42 to no. 22.

💭 Rapper 🎙 Berner debuts at no. 23 with 💿 Gotti. 

💭 R&B standout 🎙 Khalid debuts modestly at no. 54 with 💿 Scenic Drive (The Tape).

Billboard Hot 100 📉 

💭 🎙 Adele remains no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 🎵 “Easy on Me”,  the single’s seventh week in the penthouse.

💭 🎙 SZA earns the highest debut on the Hot 100 with 🎵 “I Hate U.”

💭 🎙 GAYLE sees the fast-rising 🎵 “abcdefu” ascend from no. 24 to no. 15 in its third week on the chart. 

💭 🎙 Juice WRLD and 🎙 Justin Bieber debut at no. 49 with “Wandered to L.A.”, a single from the rapper’s second posthumous album, Fighting Demons.

💭 🎙 Ed Sheeran and 🎙 Elton John debut at no. 72 with their duet, 🎵 “Merry Christmas.”
