ell, SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is.  I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye. This column isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet.  This week, I picked out 7 notable observations from the Billboard 200 πŸ“‰,  and 7 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 πŸ“‰, with πŸŽ™ Adele remaining no. 1 on both charts.

Adele, 30 [πŸ“·: Melted Stone / Columbia]πŸ’­ After a robust first week, πŸŽ™ Adele sees πŸ’Ώ 30 remain in the top spot on the Billboard 200.  According to Billboard, she still moved an impressive 288,000 units.

πŸ’­ Also for a second consecutive week, πŸŽ™ Taylor Swift sits at no. 2 with πŸ’Ώ Red (Taylor’s Version) in its third week on the charts.  

πŸ’­ one of the more popular holiday releases, πŸ’Ώ Christmas by πŸŽ™ Michael BublΓ©, ascends from no. 9 to no. 1 this week in its 96th week on the Billboard 200.  Also getting some top-10 holiday love is πŸ’Ώ A Charlie Brown Christmas (Soundtrack).

πŸ’­ πŸŽ™ Anuel AA earns the highest debut on the Billboard 200 at no. 30 with πŸ’Ώ Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren.

πŸ’­ πŸŽ™ Tony Bennett and πŸŽ™ Lady Gaga re-enter the charts at no. 65 with their jazz duets album, πŸ’Ώ Love for Sale, following their CBS special.

πŸ’­ Following its October 15, 2021, release πŸŽ™ Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit see their Georgia-related covers album, πŸ’Ώ Georgia Blue, debut on the charts at no. 83.

Top honors belong to πŸŽ™ Mariah Carey (🎡 β€œAll I Want for Christmas is You”, no. 3), πŸŽ™ Brenda Lee (🎡 β€œRockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, no. 4), πŸŽ™ Bobby Helms (🎡 β€œJingle Bell Rock”, no. 5), and πŸŽ™ Burl Ives (🎡 β€œA Holly Jolly Christmas”, no. 7)
