Well, it is steaming hot at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo, and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. We are talking about that after-dark type $hi†, ya dig? These risqué, unapologetic records often raise eyebrows and temperature alike. In the 64^th edition of Midnight Heat (2024), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind, “LUBE” by Adam Lambert.

“Slip in the room, slip right into you.” Oh, snap, Adam Lambert! He continues singing in the first verse of “LUBE”, “Trip to the moon, lavender blue / Drippin’ on you / Oh.” Oh, indeed! “LUBE” is the fifth and penultimate track from AFTERS (EP).  Lambert penned “LUBE” alongside VINCINT, Parson James, and producer, NOVODOR. It features an infectious, danceable beat. “LUBE” is as sleekly produced as the rest of AFTERS.  The clubby-feel and gay club scene are alive and well.

“Pick up the pace, give and I take…” Whoa ! Lambert delivers cool, calm, collected, and sexy vocals throughout “LUBE.” He brings explicit lyrics in the pre-chorus and chorus. In the pre-chorus, he asserts, “No, we don’t need no friction / We don’t need to do it dry / Yeah, we can keep it liquid / Slide your body into mine, mine.” In the chorus, he urges him to “Be a real good boy and lube it up,” promising him “Gonna make you nut / Every time I move your body.” Holy smokes ! “LUBE” doesn’t require deep analysis.  Neither does lube require deep analysis for that matter.  Adam Lambert raises the temperature on this one . Not only does he S-A-N-G,  making our ears perk up, but he also makes us sweat!
