Prepare to beam with P-R-I-D-E 🏳️‍🌈! Beaming with Pride 🏳️‍🌈 celebrates, embraces, and spotlights songs by LGBTQ musicians or allies.  Here, we provide background and insight into musician(s) and analyze + go gaga over the decadent bops served up.  When the music dictates deeper, more transcendent discussion, we ensure the point is fully articulated.  All styles of music are welcome while the songs can be classics or brand-spanking new. So, without further ado, in the 46th  edition of Beaming with Pride 🏳️‍🌈 (2024), we highlight “CVNTY” performed by Adam Lambert.

So, who is responsible for the reclamation of this foul word? The LGBTQ+ community 🏳️‍🌈! One of its most talented artists, Adam Lambert, contributes to the reclamation with “CVNTY” (we see how you changed that ‘u’ to a ‘v,’ Adam).  A brief but lit cut from his 2024 EP, AFTERS, Lambert penned “CVNTY” alongside Claudia Valentina, Nate Campany, Kyle Shearer, Kyle Tonoli, and Trevor Klaiman.  It was produced by Valley Girl, Kyle Tonoli, and Trevor Klaiman.  “CVNTY” sounds like a gay club. It is carefree and confident dance/ synth-pop that serves… well, you know…

Lambert serves up a flirty, tuneful melody in the first verse. “I’ma be the one that you think about / When you get stuck in your head,” he sings, adding, “Tossing and turning in bed / Leave you with burning regret.” Ooh-wee! He’s playful in the second verse, singing agilely with easygoing, self-assure vocals: “Fuck, look at my face / Look at my body, my hand on my waist / Got anything that you wanted to say? Nah / But you can’t have me back.” His confidence reaches a fever pitch in the chorus and post-chorus:

pride heart burst“Sex so good that when we did it, flowers started bloomin’

Type of love that could’ve brought a city down to ruins

Sorry, baby, that you went and motherfuckin’ blew it

I’ll break your heart, and I’ll look c🤬nty when I do it, oh.

C🤬nty while I, oh

I’ll break your heart, and I’ll look c🤬nty when I do it, oh.”

While the c-word is still ‘foul’ (not a word I use), the reclaimed rendition is highly effective in “CVNTY”.  Adam Lambert has the attitude and swagger to nail serving C U next Tuesday.
