British singer-songwriter Absolutely (Abby Keen) delivers a cinematic, dramatic, entertaining, and thought-provoking pop song with “No Audience.”
Following the ear-catching intro, “No Audience” settles into a lilting compound duple meter. Absolutely delivers beautiful, expressive, and refined vocals. She brings the melodies to life in all their tuneful glory. Likewise, the lyrics are memorable. “Dreamer, empty seats in the theater / Nobody watching, wouldn’t that be freer?” Perhaps, without an audience, things would be freer. But, who would listen, Abby? In the equally captivating second verse, she informs us, “There’s no need for the fourth wall / When it’s only your heart in the front row.” Word. The pre-chorus marks another strong moment, with Absolutely asking questions. “Does it ever get tiring?” she sings, and adds, “Feeling like you do it all / Oh, don’t you wish you could let go.” The chorus, unsurprisingly, is the big fish – the centerpiece of “No Audience.”
“Anything you decide, you can make it real life
Don’t think, don’t fear, just be, just flow
Like a house on a hill, can’t be hidden like you wish it will
When you’re alone, it’s there you’ll glow.”
Deep! Food for thought! Thought-provoking! All the things! All in all, Abby absolutely excels on “No Audience”. Great vocals, great songwriting, and top-notch production make this song a surefire vibe.
