First, I thought the track had been sent to me titled incorrectly. But having checked, the new release from Abel Razal is indeed called  All of Abel’s songs follow a similar title with each one finding its name based on the project number. Pretty unique to say the least, calling them all that, but as he missed out on a catchy hook to drag us in even more? Possibly.

Abel RazalNevertheless, the music speaks for itself. Therefore, who cares about the track name when the music comes sounding this good. I certainly don’t. Furthermore, the new release brings a modern edge to the pop scene. It falls into the pop genre, but for me, it is swaying into R&B and soul too. Also, it has a gospel vibe going for it too, well to start with anyway.

It all kicks off with an unusual rhythm which I found very original. It also as a tight bass section which pops out now and again. Vocally, M.A Teuwen who takes the lead, delivers something mesmerising. We also have Abel in the background dropping in here and there. It all sounds like something you would expect on a Prince album. It has Prince all over this, therefore, it would not surprise me to find out this is where he has found his influence. But, Abel is not a Prince duplicate. He has added his own style onto the already popular technique and it works tremendously well.

This song resonates well, and I am sure many listeners will agree. I also instantly found it attractive and one which I knew I had to review. But, I feel the artist will need even more hits like this one to secure his name as a pop heavyweight.
