1. Billie Eilish, âBIRDS OF A FEATHERâ
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT // Darkroom / Interscope // 2024
âI want you to stay / âTil Iâm in the grave / âTil I rot away, dead and buried / âTil Iâm in the casket you carry.â The love that a hypnotic Billie Eilish sings about on âBIRDS OF A FEATHERâ is special â once-in-a-lifetime. A more subdued vocalist, Eilishâs approach and style are mesmerizing. On the fourth track from her commercially successful and critically acclaimed third album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, Billie never forces things, delivering sweet, easygoing, and amorous vocals. As usual, her right-hand man, brother, and fellow Grammy and Academy Award winner, FINNEAS (Finneas OâConnell), co-wrote and produced âBIRDS OF A FEATHER.â Ear-catching, âBIRDSâ is groovy from the onset and never lets up.
With her angelic lead vocals, Billie Eilish delivers tuneful melodies during the verses and chorus. Furthermore, she delivers memorable lyrics. âBut youâre so full of shit, uh / Tell me itâs a bit,â she sings in the second verse, âSay you donât see it, your mindâs polluted / Say you wanna quit, donât be stupid.â The chorus is the section to beat, of course:
âBirds of a feather, we should stick together, I know (âTil the day that I die)
I said Iâd never think I wasnât better alone (âTil the light leaves my eyes)
Canât change the weather, might not be forever (âTil the day that I die)
But if itâs forever, itâs even better.â
Besides those refined lead vocals, the harmonized background vocals are sweet, too. A big-time hit for Eilish, âBIRDS OF A FEATHERâ peaked at no. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, among her highest-charting singles. âI donât think I could love you more.â So, so sweet!

2. The Weeknd, âBaptized in Fearâ
Hurry Up Tomorrow // The Weeknd XO Music ULC / Republic // 2025Â
âI fell asleep in the tub, I was met with paralysis / My foot hit the faucet, water started flowing in.â Uh-oh, The Weeknd â that sounds like a horrible situation. Paralysis occurs when youâre unable to make voluntary muscle movements, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Not good! He continues singing in the sole verse of âBaptized In Fearâ, âCouldnât scream for help, I just slowly felt the pressure hit / Moving one toe was the only form of motion left.â The picture that Abel Tesfaye paints in the sixth track from Hurry Up Tomorrow is life-threatening. Death, in some form or fashion, is possible (âFigure in the corner I canât quite see / I just know the shadowâs staring at meâ). Despite this shadow and  his âslowing heartbeatâ in the pre-chorus, in the chorus, âVoices tell me that I should carry on.â Word. Who are the voices? Angels?
The Weeknd, Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), and Nathan Salon composed âBaptized in Fear.â The Weeknd, Salon, Oneohtrix Point Never, and MIKE DEAN produced it. The musical backdrop is sensational â ear-catching to the nth degree. Even so, it is The Weeknd who âsteals the showâ with his radiant vocals. Tesfaye sings authentically, putting his all into this introspective ballad. âIâve been baptized in fear, my dear,â he sings in the bridge, adding, âLike Paul, Iâm the chief of sin / Washing my soul within, oh.â The Paul he cites was the famous Apostle of Jesus and the author of many books of the Bible. The spiritual references make âBaptized In Fearâ that much more special. Is this a religious song? No, but, The Weeknd is incredibly reflective as he thinks about life, his musical career, and the future. Marvelous vocals, love, rhythmic melodies, thoughtful songwriting, and superb production make âBaptized In Fearâ a surefire winner from Hurry Up Tomorrow.

3. LISA, âBorn Againâ (Ft. Doja Cat & RAYE)
Alter Ego // RCA // 2025Â
âIf you tried just a little more times / I wouldâve made you a believer.â Amen⊠I think! Thai singer and rapper LISA (Lisa Manobal) has salvation on her mind on âBorn Againâ, a single from her debut album, ALTER EGO. This spiritual experience doesnât come without friends â Grammy-winner Doja Cat (Amala Dlamini) and Grammy nominee RAYE (Rachel Keen). Doja Cat, RAYE, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wells penned âBorn Again.â RAYE and Wells produced it.Â
âBorn Againâ commences enigmatically in a minor key. It features warm, colorful, sleek production: keys, pads, synths, bass line, and sickening groove. Following a slower tempo initially, âBorn Againâ grooves something fierce. After the intro, LISA brings mad attitude in the first verse: âIâm about to make it heard as I vroom-vroom / Ice-cold how I leave you âlone, but please / Tell your mother Iâma miss her so.â Damn! Doja Cat is true to self, rapping in the second verse: âNon-believer / Youâve bitten from the fruit but can’t give back / Nice to leave ya / But I would be a fool not to ask / Do your words seem gospel to ya now?â Those spiritual references eat, even if true salvation is not the modus operandi. The tuneful chorus is the section to beat, performed by RAYE and LISA. It is excerpted in the intro, that sets the tone.
âIf you tried just a little more times
I would’ve made you a believer
Would’ve showed you what it’s like (Like)
Every single night (Night)
To be born again, baby, to be born again
If you stayed just another few nights
I couldâve made you pray to Jesus
Wouldâve showed you to the light (To the light)
Every single night (Every night)
To be born again, baby, to be born again.â
Ooh-wee! The rhythmic bridge by RAYE is electrifying, particularly her soulful runs. Ultimately, âBorn Againâ has bop written all over it. LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE eat this one up!

4. Yeat, âBĂ QUIETâ (Ft. Kodak Black)
LYFESTYLE // Field Trip Recordings / Capitol // 2024
âWay too rich, LYFESTYLE / Off with what? Off with your head (Head, yeah),â Yeat raps in the chorus of âBĂ QUIET.â âBĂ QUIETâ is the eighth track from his 2024 album, LYFESTYLE, which he referenced in the chorusâ opening lyrics. He continues rapping, âDiamond on me, blind âem like they seeinâ black, huh, ha / Whole car matte black and the windows tinted, huh.â Yeat is rich, along with being unapologetic in the lengthy chorus. Featured guest Kodak Black is responsible for the sole verse. Does he say much? Nope: âI donât want weed, Iâm on a bean / Iâm a roller, not a stoner / Even rehab gonâ hurt / You canât even pay me to be sober.â Woo! Dream Awake, Chef9thegod, and Cloud produced the malicious-sounding, minor-key joint. âBĂ QUIETâ is not deep, but it is a vibe. Oh, the powers that BE!

5. Latto, âBlick Sumâ (Ft. Playboi Carti)
âBlick Sumâ (Ft. Playboi Carti) // Streamcut / RCA // 2025
âI don’t trust no man without no blicky / âCause when shit get sticky, where the fuck that blicky at?â If you need the intro from âBlick Sumâ translated, Latto is NOT referencing the art supply company, BLICKÂź.  A blick/blicky is slang for a gun. Tthe Grammy-nominated rapper informs us she doesnât trust a man without a gun. The intro alone signals that âBlick Sumâ is a hard-nosed rap banger. Latto taps rapper Playboi Carti for the assist. Kid Hazel, Ricci Riera, Evil Nani, and W$Kharri produced âBlick Sum.â Not only does Latto want him to âThrow up your set for me,â she also asserts, âThat pistol get that pussy wet, now come have sex we me.â You canât have gun talk without mentioning a different type of gun. âHit somethinâ (Boop), if you love me (If you love me).â Latto raps over a malicious-sounding, minor-key instrumental. Non troppo, âBlick Sumâ features a skeletal backdrop (drum programming and synth). Of course, Latto makes up for the lack of instrumentation with her unapologetic rhymes and compelling cadence and flow. Playboi Carti keeps in G like Latto in the second verse: âI got a smiley face on my tab, poppinâ on Tesâ / I told Latto, âPut âem in the hole, put âem in the casket.ââ âBlick Sumâ isnât game-changing but enjoyable.

6. Rema, âBaby (Is It a Crime)â
âBaby (Is it a Crime)â // Marvin Global Holdings Ltd / Jonzing World Entertainment // 2025Â
âLove is in the air, baby, breathe in.â Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper Rema (Divine Ikubor) brings the vibes on âBaby (Is it a Crime)â. Â âBabyâ was produced by Nigerian producer, P. Priime (Peace Emmanuel Oredope). âBabyâ is set in a minor key, which gives the track a darker sound. The track commences with an enigmatic intro with sampled vocals: âIs it a crime? / Is it a crime / That I still want you / And I want you to want me too?â Specifically, multiple elements of âIs It a Crimeâ, by Sade, from the bandâs 1985 album, Promise, are sampled. That is great source material!
Rema delivers a chill, cool, swagger-laden performance. Fittingly, he performs in his native Nigerian dialect. Post-intro, Ikubor performs the centerpiece, the chorus: âBaby (Rema), baby sun má»Ì mĂ / You know say you match my steeze / You know I’m a G.â Rema also drops ear-catching verses, filled with sensual references. âBaby, go down low, nobody gats to know / Oya, I know I play around, but me no fit to let you go,â he sings in the first verse. In the second, he adds, âThe way you move this your body na weapon, ah-ahn /Catch me off guard, me I hands up kparam.â In the third verse, he spoils her:
âBuy you a Birkin matching my AP color
Treat you like omo-mo
Pampering on a hunnid
Baby, you the one for me, ooh.â
The melodies are rhythmic. The production work is warm with accompaniment featuring keys, strings, and a sickening drum groove. âBaby (Is it a Crime)â is lit â an Afrobeats bop, PERIOD!

7. Halle, âBecause I Love Youâ
âBecause I Love Youâ // Parkwood Entertainment LLC / Columbia // 2024
âAnd itâs all because I love you, babe / Love you, babe, love you, babe.â Ooh wee, that is a lot of love, Halle (Halle Bailey)! Grammy-nominated R&B singer, songwriter, and actress Halle dropped a surefire bop in 2024. In âBecause I Love Youâ, she sings angelically over warm, contemporary R&B production by Dem Jointz. In the chorus, the first major section of the song, Baileyâs voice is warm and lush. She does drop some profanity, intensifying the love (âI motherfucking love you, babeâ). Even securing the parental advisory sticker with the âmf bomb,â the chorus is infectious and memorable to the nth degree. Furthermore, it is the verses that have more attitude.
After that âkinder, gentlerâ chorus, âBecause I Love Youâ grows more assertive in sound. Halle is never âover aggressive,â but she does bring attitude. See the end of the first verse, which drops another f-bomb: âYou ainât used to girls that can make it high fashion / Fuckinâ with a ten, amen.â Word! The love is still pronounced in the second verse sans profanity: âYou put me in the car, and you always put me first / Even when Iâm the worst, even when I make it hurt.â Great background vocals enhance the color. Notably, Grammy-nominated English musician RAYE packs a mean punch on the outro (âLove you, babe / Love you, babe / Love you, babe / Itâs all because, all becauseâ). âBecause I Love Youâ is fantastic!

8. Jake Hole & DigBar, âButt Destructionâ
âButt Destructionâ // Creamville // 2024
âKnock a dude out his panties / Dick with a bush like itâs Cheney / Meat sticking up like antennae / Get balls deep in my butt, huh.â Jake Hole and DigBar join forces for the butt-loving, and destroying anthem, âButt Destructionâ. Jake Hole is responsible for the ultra-horny chorus. He wants to be the recipient of the âdestruction.â Well, at least in that instance. Hole also raps the first verse where he appears to be the aggressor of this âbut destructionâ aka, the top: âBreaking his spin when Iâm giving that bone / Kill the booty dead like a bullet to the dome.â Oh, snap! Also, Jake is proud of his endowment: âWeiner donât fit on the ruler / When I pull out, his booty go âPopâ like a Ruger.â Damn!
The NSFW âButt Destructionâ features metal-infused production. The rock edge ups the ante. There is a guitar solo towards the end (during an instrumental break/interlude). Jake Hole and DigBar, who âkills itâ in the second verse, unleash compelling cadences and flows. DigBar continues the anally-driven rhymes â theyâre gay, gay, gay! âKill a nigga butt then get away with it like OJ,â he spits, adding, âHe asked if he could look inside my butt, so I said, âOkay.ââ Is anyone shocked by his answer? Didnât think so. Other highlights include âIâm beating his cheeks till the booty get sore,â âIâm busting a nut, now thereâs kids on the floor,â âGot butt on my mind, Iâm the gay rap Melly,â and âIâma call that nigga âropeâ the way he giving me that neck.â  Rope⊠wow! Anal sex songs only come every so often⊠âButt Destructionâ fits the billing â length, girth, and all!

9. Kylie Cantrall, âBoy For a Dayâ
âBoy For a Dayâ // Artist Partner Group, Inc. / Heroine Music, LLC // 2024Â
âOh, if I could be a boy for a day / I would play hearts just like video games.â Kylie Cantrall has spoken! In the escapist pop joint âBoy For a Day,â she expresses what sheâd do as the opposite sex if given a chance. Boys, we get away with a lot, after all! In the infectious chorus, the first major section of the song, she continues singing, âI would slide on all your friends / Like there ainât no consequence, no / If I could be a boy for a day.â Cantrall penned âBoyâ alongside Lisa Scinta and Jim Lavigne, Rodney Jerkins, Sermstyle, Will Grands, and House of Wolf produced it. The single is exciting beyond its boyish chorus! âIâd go around bragginâ about my body count,â Cantrall asserts in the first verse, adding, âGhost you all day, then I come through / Isnât that what being a boy is all about?â The second verse also criticizes the opposite sexâs ways: âIâd get an award for how many times I made you cry.â Noted, Kylie. Boys are something else, and âBoy For a Dayâ clearly proves the point that we need to do better. As for Kylie, she slays vocally while the production/sound of the record hearkens back to the glorious R&B of the 90s and early 00s. Boys take the L, but the song is a bop!

10. JORDY, âBREAKUP SEXâ
SEX WITH MYSELF AND IT LASTS LONGER // JORDY / EMPIRE // 2024
âFelt so good until it burned / But I ainât ever one to leave behind loose ends.â In some cases, the âburnâ isnât a good feeling⊠at least sexually. But in the context of the first verse of âBREAKUP SEXâ by JORDY, our handsome pop singer/songwriter isnât referencing an STI⊠In this case, his relationship with his boyfriend has gone south. That said, a key component of his single isnât about their demise but about what they do before their demise. âDarlinâ, you want me, you got me / One last time.â Yes, before they call it quits, they âhit it.â JORDY and producer POM POM penned this sexual happening. And whoâs to judge, especially if the soon-to-be ex-boyfriend was good in bed?
âBreakup sex
You and me undressed
Only one night left
Do it like weâll never do it again
Get wet, leave it all in the bed
Do what we do best
âCause you know weâre gonna do it again.â
Reading into the shallow chorus where sex is king, one has to ask, beyond the breakup sex, will they hook up down the line again? Also, analyzing the relationship, how much of a role did sex play in it? Emotionally, things arenât sound (âAll my tears only fed your flameâ) but sexually⊠(âAnd always pleasure coming with the painâ). JORDY âbrings the heatâ to his performance, singing beautifully and enticing us fiercely. Who doesnât desire to be the recipient of that good sex? With a fabulous instrumental and a tuneful melody, âBREAKUP SEXâ is the S-H-I-T!

11. Charli XCX, âB2bâ (Ft. Tinashe)
Brat and itâs completely different but also still brat // Atlantic // 2024
âBack to back to back to back to back to back to back.â Ooh-wee, thatâs seven backs! Charli XCX leaves no doubt what her song âB2bâ stands for â back to back! It originally appeared on her iconic, Grammy-winning 2024 album, Brat. âB2bâ reappears, in remixed form, as the 12th track on Brat and itâs completely different but also still brat. Charli enlists the services of another sickening artist, Tinashe. âB2bâ benefits from its seek production (Finn Keane and LIOHN) with an ill groove and bright synths. The chorus, excerpted above, is simple but infectious.
Beyond the chorus, Charli XCX delivers confident yet easygoing vocals. âI travel âround the world to fifteen countries in four days,â she sings in the first verse, adding, âIâm fuckinâ tired, but I love it and Iâm not complaininâ / Oh, shit, I kinda made it.â Indeed, Charli! In the second verse, she moves beyond pitch to chanted lines, gassing up Tinashe (ââCause we made âem âBoom Clap,â made âem get â2 Onââ). Expectedly, Tinashe provides a fabulous guest appearance, âbringing the heatâ as always in the third verse:
âBoutta run it back
The way my ass look in these jeans, I’m boutta throw it back (Back, back)
When they see us out here winning, they get so mad
Now I’m feeling on myself, I don’t know how to act (Act, act, act, act).â
Word! âB2bâ is the sugar honey iced tea! Notably, the remix is shorter than the original by nearly 30 seconds. It doesnât matter â Charli XCX and Tinashe âdo the damn thing,â back to back to back!

12._SANTI_ & Samjgarfield, âBUKAKKEâ
DADDY (EP) // SANTI // 2024
â1, 2, 3, 4, 5 / Letâs make a group shoot / Do you got milk? /⊠To make my milkshake.â Oh, boy⊠or should I say, oh boys đ! The fierce and handsome_SANTI_, collaborating with music producer, songwriter, and the very-easy-on-the-eyes Samjgarfield (SJG), doesnât waste any time getting to what he desires in âBUKAKKEâ, the NSFW third track from his late 2024 EP, DADDY. Just in case you didnât catch what was implied lyrically, bukkake is a sexual practice in which several men ejaculate on the face of an individual. The group, shoot, and milk make sense within the context of the lyrics now, right? Oh, and as for the milkshake, we already know âit brings all the boys to the yardâ. Anyways, if you do happen to Google search bukkake, some search results will yield p0rn â fair warning!
Sex-positivity is full throttle from our fearless and handsome pop artist. His attitude is through the roof, and we wouldnât have it any other way. âMilkman got me waiting for a milky treat / I be the Dairy Queen / Blizzard,â he sings, lustily, adding, âPut it all on me.â Embracing his role of âPumping daddies,â he encourages the men, âCome and dump you come and you go.â Come and dump are the keywords⊠then again, the âgoâ should be noted too. _SANTI_ doesnât stop there. Besides being âVers like Hannah Montana,â and âCockiana barbiana,â we get a killer verse in Spanish, signaled by a production switch. And by killer, there is a Jeffrey Dahmer reference: âMĂĄs freaky que Jeffrey Dahmer / Te la Saco como una prepago / Santi sabe que yo te lo hagoâ â âFreakier than Jeffrey Dahmer / I’ll take it from you like a hooker / Santi knows that I do it to you.â Holy fucking shit! Backed by badass music accompaniment (get it, SJG), _SANTI_ âdoes the damn thingâ on the risquĂ©, utterly satisfying âBUKAKKEâ.

13. ScHoolboy Q, âBlueslidesâ
BLUE LIPS // Interscope / Top Dawg Entertainment // 2024Â
âBlue slides, Iâve been slidinâ through your whole shit, yeah / Presidential Rollies, I took big risks.â Surprisingly, Grammy-nominated rapper ScHoolboy Q was not nominated for a Grammy for his sixth studio album, BLUE LIPS, released in 2024. I say that to say that some of the nominees for Best Rap album at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards were weak â look at you, J. Cole, Might Delete Later, and Eminem, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De GrĂące). Anyways, âBlueslidesâ is the intriguing fourth track from BLUE LIPS â a tribute of sorts to the late Mac Miller (âLost a homeboy to the drugs, man, I ainât tryna go backwardsâ). Produced by J.LBS, Jason Wool, Mario Luciano, and Tae Beast, âBlue Slidesâ features classy, jazzy-sounding production. I love the buttery smooth vocals, muted trumpet, piano, and string bass. Upping the ante are classy, ultra-lush strings. Q raps with ease over the ultra-refined backdrop. Donât get it twisted, though â ScHoolboy Q still keeps it âall the way real!â âBetter climb out of that hole before you fuck your blessings,â Q raps in the first verse, continuing, ââFore you realize that itâs over with and start to get desperate.â He also references his house arrest, mental health, and giving back. There is an eyebrow-raising, memorable lyric related to former Vice President Kamala Harris in the second verse (âGot me a little money, now we best friends / If Kamala freed the homies weâd all be litâ). Notably, the democratic presidential candidate was criticized for her criminal justice policies as a prosecutor.

14. Billie Eilish, âBLUEâ
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT // Darkroom / Interscope // 2024
âI try to live in black and white, but Iâm so blue.â Noted. âBLUEâ is the 10th and final track from HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, the Grammy-nominated third album by Academy and Grammy-winning alternative pop singer/songwriter Billie Eilish. A two-part song, the concluding cut from HIT ME HARD AND SOFT Â runs nearly six minutes long. Eilish does what she does best: serve up cool, calm, and collected vocals. She sounds stunning. Eilish composed âBLUEâ alongside her talented brother, FINNEAS, who also produced it.
âI thought we were the same / Birds of a feather, now Iâm ashamed,â Eilish sings in the verse of part one of âBLUE,â âTrue Blue.â âTrue Blueâ benefits from tuneful melodies, gorgeous background vocals, and ear-catching production cues. âSoundâ highlights include the groove, as well as the bass. A change of pace occurs before the two-minute mark, signaling part two, âBorn Blue.â âYou were born bluer than a butterfly / Beautiful and so deprived of oxygen,â Billie sings in the first verse, continuing, âColder than your fatherâs eyes / He never learned to sympathize with anyone.â During âBorn Blue,â the tempo is slower. Her performance is hypnotic as she paints a vivid portrait of the blueness of this nameless person, seemingly an ex. Around the three-and-a-half-minute mark, a thudding kick enters the mix, as well as distinct, low vocals. Just before the four-minute mark, the full-fledged drum groove reveals itself. The section to beat is the chorus:
âI donât blame you
But I canât change you
Donât hate you (Donât hate you)
But we canât save you (But we canât save you).â
The songwriting is on-point and marvelously incorporates blueness throughout, including the bridge (âJust a baby born blue now, nowâ). Another musical touch stands out: strings. Those dramatic, lush, and picturesque strings conclude âBLUEâ which is one of the best songs from HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.

15. Queen, âBody Languageâ
Hot Space // Hollywood // 1982Â
âGive me, body / Give me your body.â Queen delivered a sex song with âBody Languageâ. Itâs attributed to the legendary prog rock band, but this song has Freddie Mercury written all over it. Mercury did pen the fourth track from the bandâs 1982 album, Hot Space.  Queen and Reinhold Mack produced it. It sounds starkly different from the bandâs earlier output. The departure in sound is part of the controversy.
I find âBody Languageâ to be an intriguing four-and-a-half-minute song. The guitar by Brian May is spare as keys and synths rule the roost. The drums are electronic. The iconic bass line isnât a bass guitar but rather a bass synth. Stylistically, it leans more post-disco, dance-rock, and synth-pop. The lyrics are simple to the nth degree. Phrases Mercury sings include âDonât talkâ (repeated thrice), âSexy body / Sexy, sexy body / I want your body,â and âBaby, youâre hot.â The chorus keeps it uncomplicated, too: âBody language / Body language / Body language.â The simplistic lyrics sufficiently evoke sex, but there is one moment, the bridge, where Mercury is even more attuned to sex:
âYou got red lips
Snakes in your eyes
Long legs
Great thighs
Youâve got the cutest ass Iâve ever seen
Knock me down for a six anytime.â
May and Roger Taylor have commented many times that this song was far different from others. Also, it felt too gay for them. Even beyond Mercury bringing his bandmates into the LGBTQ+ world against their will, the âactualâ controversy behind âBody Languageâ was the music video. MTV banned it because it was considered incredibly risquĂ© at the time â too sexual. Today, the video is quite tame â not nearly as spicy as the videos many artists release to shock. âBody Languageâ was a change of pace and departure for Queen. It is not the top of their catalog, but infectious, nonetheless. It also reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.

16. Paco, âBODY SHOP.â (Ft. Tommy Richman)
Paco // âBody Shopâ // 2024
âTell me what youâre sippinâ on, baby / I take you to the body shop, crazy.â Early on, Paco is on some sensual shit on âBODY SHOP.â. In the chorus, the first section heard, he continues singing, âLil mama, how you move it like that, uh / Tell your friend, if she like it, like that, uh.â Ah, heâs thinking with those pants, ainât he? Paco enlists the services of Tommy Richman for the assist on this vibe-laden hip-hop joint. Paco and Richman penned it, while Jonah Roy, Kavi, and  Maxwell Vossberg produced it. The sound palette is ear-catching and groovy to the nth degree. Following the chorus, Paco delivers the first verse. Heâs confident and ready to âdo something.â âDamn, she got a body like that / Tell me if I got it, she can throw it right back,â he asserts, adding, âHer body lies, so I canât save her, no, no.â Um, sure⊠Richman arrives in the second verse, with his fair share of f-bombs. âYouâre the realest in the room, Iâve done it / But youâre never in the mood, Iâll fuck ya / Iâll fuck it all, but I wanna return yo lip balmâŠâ The lyrics are, um, something else on âBODY SHOP.â but the vibe âvibes hard.â

17. Megan Thee Stallion, âBroke His Heartâ
MEGAN // Hot Girl Productions LLC // 2024
âThat pussy broke a nigga heart, broke his heart, uh.â Ooh-wee, Megan The Stallion đ«ą! Cominâ in hot, gurl! âThis pussy got grip (yeah), pussy made him trick (ah) / This pussy here turn a real nigga to a bitch.â In âBroke His Heartâ, the fifth track from Megan, the third studio album by the Grammy-winning rapper, she says pussy nine times in the chorus alone đł. For the most part, she brags about how good âitâ is. At the end of the chorus, keeping things sexual, she implores him to âDick me down, slut me out, put it in my ribs, ayy / Grab my throat and up my wrists.â Holy shit đł! Tay Keith produced the NSFW joint which samples âI Luv Itâ by Jeezy.
The chorus is a lot. However, thatâs not the extent of Megan Thee Stallion kicking ass and taking names with her bars. Sheâs bold, confident, unapologetic, and sexed-up throughout the sole verse. âWhat Iâm doinâ on the âGram, I can do on the dick,â she asserts, adding, âDo a split on it (yeah), suck and spit on it.â Damn! Also, a prerequisite for sexing: âHope you could handle all this shape, âcause I ainât fuckinâ with no squares.â Sheâs picky, yâall đ! Even being sex-positive, Megan informs us, âThatâs my dick and I donât share.â Megan ends the verse with a âbangâ đ€: âBooty so nice, bitches think my shit fake⊠/ I like girls and I like niggas (yeah), both of âem gettinâ ate (ah) / And when he slip it in, that pussy feel great.â Did you catch that bisexual reference? âBroke His Heartâ is somethinâ else! It is NOT SAFE FOR WORK, PERIOD! EXCLAMATION POINT!

18. 6 Dogs, âButtcheeksâ
âButtcheeksâ // Mad Love / Interscope // 2018
âEyes wide open / Drowning, Iâm choking / Worry âbout a butt cheek / Bitch, you can miss me.â Sadly, 6 Dogs (Ronald Chase Amick) died at just 21 years old in 2021. His major-label debut single, âButtcheeksâ, released in 2018, showcases his immense potential. At the time, the Atlanta rapper was still a teenager. The interestingly titled âButtcheeksâ was written by Amick, benny blanco, Cashmere Cat, and Romy (Romy Madley Croft). Blanco and Cashmere Cat produced it.
âButtcheeksâ commences with enigmatic instrumental sounds. As the song develops, it adds marvelous drum programming. The beat is ânon troppoâ but provides a terrific anchor. 6 Dogs delivers clear, easygoing melodic vocals in the chorus. Notably, Amick sounds as if he âfloatsâ as he raps, embracing cloud rap to the nth degree. The first verse is simple, mellow, melodic, and features few words. One of the cool references is to the short-lived television show Freaks and Geeks: âMonte Carlo creaking / Loud pack reeking / Yeah, I feel like Iâm Bill, whoa / âCause they way that Iâm geeking.â Woo! The second verse is patterned similarly to the first. âTeardrops on a keyboard / Non-stop to the top floor,â he raps, adding, âCrocodile drop top / Wipe your eyes, yeah, youâll see more.â The bridge features some cool vocal effects and some of the most intriguing lyrics: ââCause I think it was laced /⊠Fuck, it was laced / Hit the ground with my face / At least itâs Persianâ).  On âButtcheeksâ, 6 Dogs perfectly captures his emotions and highness. Furthermore, he gets a killer Cole Bennett-directed music video, intact with, you guessed it, butt cheeks. They are censored, though. R.I.P. Ronald.

19. Lil Peep & Nedarb, âbeamer boyâ
CALIFORNIA GIRLS (EP) // Death Note Music, LLC / AWAL Recordings America, Inc. // 2016
âAinât nobody, nobody was talkinâ to me like a few months ago / And now everybody hittinâ my phone up and shit.â No doubt, Lil Peep (Gustav Ă
hr)! As a member of Schemaposse, the emo rapper experienced a massive come-up.  Sadly, the once ascending rapper and singer saw his career and life cut short in 2017 when he died of an accidental overdose at 21 years old. âBeamer boyâ arrived in 2016 as the fourth track from the deceased rapperâs CALIFORNIA GIRLS (EP). Nedarb produced the highlight, which commences with a scream, followed by rhythmic guitar accompanying the spoken word by the rapper (excerpted above). Soon enough, a synth brightens the backdrop.  With the entrance of the sole verse (or however youâd like to name it), repeated twice, âbeamer boyâ is anchored by a badass beat. Lil Peep radiates with energy, amped up by sickening vocal production. In the hella energetic verse, he proclaims, âIâm a motherfuckinâ Schemaâ boy, Iâm a dreamer boy / I love a girl that donât even fuckinâ need a boy / Baby Iâm a beamer boy, I need a beamer, boy / I want a Z3, thatâs a two-seater, boy.â Woo! It doesnât stop there, of course as Lil Peep drops his fair share of dope bars like âI got death notes, where my list at?â and âYou see me doinâ shows now, Iâm a pro now / I got hoes now and I got some dough now / But they donât wanna hear that, they want that real shit / They want that âdrug talk,â that âI canât feel shitâ.â Lil Peep may be dead, but his fierce bangers like the multiplatinum âBeamer boyâ endure.

20. Patti Smith Group, âBecause the Nightâ
Easter // Arista // 1978Â
âLove is an angel disguised as lust / Here in our bed until the morning comes.â Ooh-wee! Patti Smith, âthe high priestess of punk-poetry,â was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. That is a big deal. Surprisingly, by pop standards, Smith has one hit to her name. That one hit wonder, âBecause the Nightâ, is attributed to the Patti Smith Group. It is the third track from the groupâs 1978 album, Easter. âNightâ peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Notably, Smith penned the song with a fellow rock legend, Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen had begun writing it initially. Smith finished the song. Jimmy Iovine is responsible for getting Springsteen to give Smith the song. He also produced it.Â
âBecause the Nightâ commences with piano accompaniment. Smith sings quietly and reservedly initially. âTake me now, baby, here as I am / Pull me close, try and understand,â she sings in the first verse, continuing, âDesire is hunger, itâs the fire I breathe / Love is a banquet on which we feed.â Soon, âBecause of Youâ becomes bigger, and Smith belts. It features dramatic, hard-rocking musical accompaniment. The punk energy is prevalent in this non-punk-rock song. I love the heaviness of the sound of the drums. Later, there is also an electrifying electric guitar solo. Rock on! The melodies are tuneful, while the overall songwriting instrumentally and lyrically are strong. The chorus is the section to beat:
âBecause the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to lust
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us.â
Great contrast is provided in the bridge. The songwriting continues to be âon pointâ as Smith asserts, âWith love we sleep / With doubt the vicious circle turns and burns / Without you, I cannot live.â Smith may have only notched one hit, but âBecause the Nightâ is a rad one. Patti Smith ate this track up đ€!Â

21. The OâJays, âBrandyâ
So Full of Love // Sony Music Entertainment // 1978
âBut how could it be, she ran away from me / My best friendâs gone, Iâm so alone.â âBrandyâ is the fifth track on So Full of Love, the 1978 album by the iconic soul collective, The OâJays. âBrandyâ was penned by Charles Simmons and Joseph Jefferson. The Philly soul vibes theyâre renowned for are in full effect: strings, primarily, and a tight rhythm section. Thom Bell, one of the great Philly soul proponents, produced the gem. âBrandyâ impacted the pop charts modestly, peaking at no. 79 on the Billboard Hot 100.
âI thought Iâd get up and take a look around, but my feet got in the way,â lead vocalist Walter Williams sings in the first verse, adding, âStumbled to the floor, she was right in the door, I could see her face.â She is a dog. Never underestimate the effect of âmanâs best friend.â Throughout, Williams sings with incredible nuance and soul. He gets the assistance of the rest of The OâJays (Eddie Levert and Sammy Strain) in the chorus.
âI really miss you, Brandy, Iâm so all alone
When are you coming back home?
I really miss you, Brandy, missing you every day
Are you coming home to stay?â
The chorus is stellar â one for the ages. The melodies are lovely throughout âBrandyâ. The lyrics are also clever (âBut I was in love when they put it down / Oh, my doorstep in the rain / I could feel it coming to my heart, through my window paneâ).  The OâJays excelled at making hits. âBrandyâ wasnât another top 40 hit, but, it is one of their best songs. Williams eats those lead vocals up!
