6ix9ine, KEKE © Scumgang6ix9ine, assisted by Fetty Wap and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, exhibit killer flows on shallow, yet undeniable banger, “KEKE.”

The unapologetic, boisterous 6ix9ine is back with another one! “KEKE” continues the formula that the SoundCloud rapper has thrived upon so far (“GUMMO” and “Kooda”).  The production is dark, led by its rhythmic, minor-key synths, and anchored by hard-hitting drum programming.

After the obligatory shout out to “Scum Gang,” 6ix9ine drops the hook, in all its explicitness:

“I’ll be on the block on the regular / With my n*ggas busting at the cops, on the regular / Bitches sucking dick, giving top, on the regular / Catch me water whipping straight drop, on the regular…”

See the key phrase – on the regular? 6ix9ine follows the hook with a brief verse, asserting his toughness while ultimately offering little substance. “N*ggas want war yeah, kick the door… / Rollin’ through the city, yeah, with my n*ggas… / Double trigger Glock, make him Diddy Bop, boy.”

Fetty Wap follows, offering a variant on the hook, before dropping his own verse. His key phrase is, “pull up.” To his credit, he does drop a LaVar Ball reference (“They know I’ma ball like LaVar”). A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie closes things out, kicking off his verse cleanly: “I f*ck it up, I f*ck it up, mm yeah / Shmegular, that’s regular, mm yeah… / I’m I’m a player, you a slut, ooh yeah / I told my .38 ‘I love you’…/ Put the thirty to your motherf*ckin’ brain n*gga…”

Final Thoughts

Despite being shallow, it’s hard to deny that “KEKE” is a banger. 6ix9ine, Fetty Wap, and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie all exhibit strong flows, even if their rhymes lack any sense of transcendence.
