24kGoldn, "Coco" [๐Ÿ“ท: Records LLC / Columbia]The good โ€˜moodโ€™ continues for melodic rapper 24kGoldn on his short but sweet single, โ€œCoco,โ€ where heโ€™s assisted by DaBaby.

The โ€œMoodโ€ has been great for ๐ŸŽ™ 24kGoldn in 2020, period! Thatโ€™s right, the hit song has been dominant, making the rapper plenty of money.ย  Heโ€™s back with a new single, ๐ŸŽต โ€œCoco,โ€ which has the potential to keep elevating his profile and expanding his bank account.ย  On the short but sweet joint (clocks in under two-and-a-half-minutes), heโ€™s assisted by ๐ŸŽ™ DaBaby. ๐ŸŽ™ Omer Fed and ๐ŸŽ™ 94Skrt handle the production duties.ย

โ€œCocoโ€ begins with an intro by 24kGoldn, which seems to revolve around matters of the heart (โ€œHow many times you gonโ€™ call me? / Goddamn, this bitch trippinโ€™.โ€) From there, we are treated to the catchy, melodic chorus:

โ€œCoco Chanel, you ainโ€™t really โ€˜bout it, I can tell
Coco Chanel, can you keep your hands to yourself...โ€

Much like โ€œMood,โ€ โ€œCocoโ€ has ample pop sensibilities, given its melodic approach.ย  Beyond the chorus, 24kGoldn is in his zone, singing about this particular girl.ย  He serves up nothing game changing, but itโ€™s effective and enjoyable. DaBaby brings contrast on the second verse.ย  That said, heโ€™s still melodic, though, his deeper voice naturally gives the record a more masculine sound (โ€œMake her feel like Iโ€™m from heaven, but I still put up through hellโ€).ย

Final Thoughts ๐Ÿ’ญ

All in all, โ€œCocoโ€ is poised to give 24kGoldn another hit single.ย  Can it supplant the success of โ€œMood.โ€ Eh, Iโ€™m not so sure, but all the ingredients are here to propel this young artist to superstardom.ย  Thatโ€™s definitely a great reason to be in a totally good mood.ย
