24kGoldn, El Dorado [๐Ÿ“ท: Records Label / Columbia]24kGolden continues to build momentum leading up to the release of his debut album (El Dorado) with a potent third single, โ€œ3, 2, 1.โ€

โ€œThree sides to the story / Yours and mine and the goddamn truth, girlโ€ฆโ€ On ๐ŸŽต โ€œ3, 2, 1,โ€ ๐ŸŽ™ 24kGoldn continues to build on the massive success of ๐ŸŽต โ€œMoodโ€ leading up to his debut album, ๐Ÿ’ฟ El Dorado. โ€œ3, 2,1โ€ runs just 2:12, but itโ€™s a worthwhile 2:12 to say the least.  Producing this pleasant number is a star-studded cast: ๐ŸŽ› Omer Fedi, ๐ŸŽ› Blake Slatkin, ๐ŸŽ› Nick Mira, ๐ŸŽ› KC Supreme, and ๐ŸŽ› Rio Leyva.  โ€œ3, 2,1โ€ wonโ€™t change your life, but itโ€™s worth adding to your playlist โ€“ get this bad boy on your listening rotation!

First things first, โ€œ3, 2, 1โ€ begins abruptly. Only one note of the instrumental plays before 24kGoldn delivers the chorus. Because of the abrupt start, as a listener, youโ€™re a bit off-put at first โ€“ where is he going with this? Later iterations of the chorus actually pack more of a punch and reveal the full-fledged glory. Following the opening chorus, on the first verse, the production evolves more with a more robust beat and additional instrumentation, which is pretty sweet.  Thematically, no one should be surprised that the artist is dealing with those ever-relatable matters of the heart (โ€œStarted with a kiss, ended with a dub / Better if you leave โ€˜cause I feel better when youโ€™re goneโ€). Of course, nothing sums things up better than โ€“ wait for it โ€“ the chorus!

Final Thoughts ๐Ÿ’ญ

Ultimately, โ€œ3,2,1โ€ gives the ascending pop artist another potential hit.  No, itโ€™s not quite on the same level as โ€œMood,โ€ but itโ€™s short and sweet when itโ€™s all said and done.  Solid production, respectable performance by 24kGoldn, and a catchy chorus.
