2 Chainz, Quarantine Thick | Track Review 🎵

Grammy-nominated rapper 2 Chainz enlists female rap standout Mulatto for a banger fit for a pandemic, “Quarantine Thick.”  

“Okay, my day was amazin’ / Her booty shots graze me / She said, all the gyms closed, so she been feelin’ lazy / She been late night snackin’, but shawty still my baby…” So, is there any need to proceed further? 🎙 2 Chainz remains true to self on his latest single, 🎵 “Quarantine Thick.” The title of the record suggests his lady (or ladies) are smoking hot and enticing as ever, pandemic or not.  On this sexed-up banger, he enlists female rapper 🎙 Mulatto for the assist.

“Quarantine Thick” features banging, minimalist southern rap production courtesy of 🎙 Yung Lan, who is shouted out in the intro.  It truly is minimal; basically, a keyboard line and hard-hitting drums. As the excerpted lyrics above suggest, 2 Chainz is as absurd as ever.  He’s funny, raunchy, and of course, sexed TF up. A prime example: “I had that pussy pissin’ once I hit that kidney.” My, my, my! Following his verse, we are treated to a catchy chorus, highlighting the newly acquired thickness. Expectedly, Chainz encourages her to “Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake it fast.”

Beyond Chainz, Mulatto plays off the sex that he throws out on the first verse. As expected, she’s equally sexed-up.  A prime example: “Quarantine thick, he tryna get me lipo (ooh) / Pussy holy water, put that on the Bible.” Blasphemy I say – BLASPHEMY! Even if she’s ‘unrefined,’ you’ve gotta love her quick, agile flow and the mad attitude she brings to the table.

Final Thoughts 💭

2 Chainz hasn’t changed a bit.  “Quarantine Thick” exemplifies that without a doubt.  The wheel is not reinvented, but at this point, we definitely don’t need it to be with the rapper.  Sexual references and absurd, funny rhymes are his thing. “Quarantine Thick” encompasses both.  Not a game changer, but definitely enjoyable.
