S

ometimes, I wonder why I choose to write the things I write about. This, my friends, is one of those times.  This definitely earns the classification of a shit post… I think. Yet, here I am, going down this utterly ridiculous, and likely, NSFW rabbit hole.  Basically, these songs feature lyrics that explicitly say the word masturbate (in some form or fashion). The entire song likely has little or nothing to do with, shall I say, the masturbatory line.

nsfw🎧 17 Songs Featuring Self-Pleasure Lyrics features lyrics from songs by 🎙 Cannibal Corpse, 🎙 Jon Bellion, 🎙 Phoebe Bridgers, 🎙 Rick Ross, 🎙 Sam Fender, and 🎙 Sub Urban among others. Let me make it crystal clear – take this sugar honey iced tea post with a grain of salt! It’s not that deep!

1. Sub Urban, “WHITEWALL” (Ft. WHOKILLEDXIX)

💿 HIVE🏷 Warner • 📅 2022

Sub Urban, HIVE [📷 : Warner]“Masturbate to a white wall” – Sub Urban

Well, the name of the song is 🎵 “WHITEWALL,” so, I assume that is why a specific-colored wall was chosen for the act. That said, I’ve yet to figure out why 🎙 Sub Urban (Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve)  says this on this intriguing number from his 2022 debut album, 💿 HIVE.  It’s a sort of a hyperpop record, so make of it what you will.  Still, I have questions.  Does a white wall provide inspiration to, well, you know?

2. Rick Ross, “Mafia Music”

💿 Deeper Than Rap🏷 Def Jam • 📅 2009

Rick Ross, Deeper Than Rap [📷: Def Jam]“The rumors turn me on, I’m masturbatin’ at the top

These hoes so excited, so they catchin’ every drop.”

This is one of my favorite lyrics from 🎙 Rick Ross if I’m being honest. 🎵 “Mafia Music” is a badass way to commence his third studio album, 💿 Deeper Than Rap (2009). Ross uses masturbation as a means of touting his status in the rap game. While we assume the hoes he speaks of are female, drinking his “sweet semen” as 🎙 Jack Harlow asserts in 🎵 “First Class” (haha, that lyric is something else itself), we know that Ross has a sizable male following too. I dunno, is this a case of ‘no homo’ as they say or does Ross care his male following are “catchin’ every drop” too? Over-analysis, I know, sigh.

3. Jon Bellion, “All Time Low”

💿 The Human Condition🏷 Capitol • 📅 2016

Jon Bellion, The Human Condition [📷 : Capitol]“I was the knight in shining armor in your movie

Would put your lips on mine and love the aftertaste

Now I’m a ghost, I call your name, you look right through me

You’re the reason I’m alone and masturbate.”

The big takeaway on 🎵 “All Time Low” (💿 The Human Condition, 2016) is the loneliness that alternative pop singer/songwriter 🎙 Jon Bellion experiences, more so than the 🍆 💦. He goes from being a “knight” to being a “ghost” –that’s a hell of a demotion.  Furthermore, rather than spending time, and experiencing an intimate, physical relationship with her, he has to resort to, um, self-play to cope. Give Bellion credit for being honest because not every guy would admit it… just sayin’!

 4. Highly Suspect, “Serotonia”

💿 The Boy Who Died Wolf🏷 300 Entertainment • 📅 2016

Highly Suspect, The Boy Who Died Wolf [📷: 300]“I wish that everyone I knew was dead

So that I’d never have to pick up the phone

I just wanna be naked

And masturbate all day at home.”

🎙 Johnny Stevens, front man of 🎙 Highly Suspect, is clearly in a mood on 🎵 “Serotonia” (💿 The Boy Who Died Wolf, 2017) and it ain’t a sentimental one! He has no desire to interact with anyone, period.  He does, however, want to ‘interact with himself,’ though 😂.  That said, I would hope Mr. Stevens is exaggerating about the “all day” part because, um, that might hurt after a while… Of course, this eyebrow-raising, explicit self-pleasure line isn’t what “Serotonia” is about all told; has a bigger picture in mind. But, hey, can you deny the lyric sticks out like a sore thumb, or better yet an erect cactus 🌵! So prickly!

5. Gucci Mane, “I Get the Bag” (Ft. Migos)

💿 Mr. Davis🏷 Atlantic • 📅 2017

Gucci Mane, Mr. Davis [📷: Atlantic]“Just drop to your knees and please me, baby (Go)

I’m fascinated, two bitches so fine that I masturbated (Ha)

Congratulations, she brain me so good that I graduated (Wow).” – Gucci Mane

Sometimes, there are deeper layers to masturbatory references, as you will see throughout this odd musical compendium 😏. In the case of 🎙 Gucci Mane and his 💿 Mr. Davis joint, 🎵 “I Get the Bag”, it’s straightforward and self-explanatory.  These three lines are sexual, sexual, S-E-X-ual folks! Totally NSFW, there is both self-pleasure, oral pleasure (the ‘braining’), and we assume with graduating that Mr. Mane got a load of honors 😏 🍆 💦 😂 ! Okay, okay, I’m done!!!

6. JC Chasez, “Come to Me”

💿 Schizophrenic🏷 Zomba • 📅 2004

JC Chasez, Schizophrenic [📷: Zomba]“’Cause when I’m all alone, I lie awake and masturbate

I love to hear the sounds you make

Baby, here I come”

Somehow, I question if 🎙 JC Chasez is using the correct form of the word come on 🎵 “Come to Me.” Of course, the song hails from the former 🎙 *NSYNC member’s sole solo album, 💿 Schizophrenic.  Remember, this is the same tour de force where JC informed us that 🎵 “Some Girls (Dance With Women)” – let that sink in for a moment. Anyways, Chasez felt the need to tell us what guys around the world do when their lover is not around.  Batting 1000 here!

7. Tyler, The Creator, “She”

💿 Goblin🏷 XL • 📅 2011

Tyler, the Creator, Goblin [📷: XL]“I just wanna talk and conversate

‘Cause I usually just stalk you and masturbate

And I finally got the courage to ask you on a date

So just say yes, let the future fall into place, c-nt.”

It took a while, but eventually, 🎙 Tyler, The Creator matured into a 🏆 Grammy-winning musician.  He still manages to be unapologetic, but he’s much more ‘refined’ than he was early on in his career. 💿 Goblin served as the proper introduction for most of us to a rapper who appeared too raw – an understatement. On 🎵 “She,” Tyler aggressively pursues her, admitting to stalking her and of course, ‘choking the chicken’ 🐔. Of course, I’m positive calling her a C U Next Tuesday is not going to help his cause…

8. Lil Dicky, “Lemme Freak”

💿 Professional Rapper 🏷 Commission / David Burd Music • 📅 2015

Lil Dicky, Professional Rapper [📷: Commission / David Burd Music]“Drunk, faded

Browned out, looking all shady

Two months since I fucked a lady

Young man dick going crazy

Standard Saturday

I’m about to get a cab and masturbate.”

Apparently, comedic rapper 🎙 Lil Dicky is all out of whack.  Of course, he decides to whack… in a cab. I have questions, and perhaps, I don’t want to know the answers 😳.  As the title suggests, sex runs rampant on 🎵 “Lemme Freak” from the outlandish album, 💿 Professional Rapper.  Lil Dicky should be taken with a grain of salt, and with moderation, clearly.  As for his solo practices, well, I recommend he do that somewhere private with his privates 💯.

9. The 1975, “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America”

💿 Notes on a Conditional Form • 🏷 Interscope • 📅 2020

The 1975, Notes on a Conditional Form [📷: Interscope]“I’m in love with the girl next door

Her name’s Claire

Nice when she comes ‘round to call

Then masturbate the second she’s not there.” – Phoebe Bridgers

🎵 “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America” (💿 Notes on a Conditional Form) is a deep record, tackling faith and sexuality. Notably, this 🎙 The 1975 gem features uncredited vocals by 🏆 Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, 🎙 Phoebe Bridgers. Bridgers specifically highlights the friction between being homosexual and Christian – good ole “Adam and Eve, Not Adam and Steve”! After already suppressing same-sex feelings earlier in the verse, in the excerpted lyrics, she expresses her love for her next-door neighbor, and like so many of the boys on this list, when her lover isn’t around, she enjoys ‘solo time.’ This song isn’t about self-pleasure, of course, but that lyric also speaks to how complicated queer love is, particularly tied in with religion.

10. Sufjan Stevens, “All of Me Wants All of You”

💿 Carrie & Lowell 🏷 Asthmatic Kitty • 📅 2015

Sufjan Stevens, Carrie & Lowell [📷: Asthmatic Kitty]“You checked your texts while I masturbated.”

On the surface, the lyrics excerpted from 🎵 “All of Me Wants All of You” appear to be sexual. In the bigger scheme of things, it’s an emotional reaction from 🎙 Sufjan Stevens regarding his relationship with his estranged mother, Carrie. That relationship was dysfunctional and lacked closeness – it lacked the intimacy it should’ve possessed.  If you go beyond what Stevens had in mind on this 💿 Carrie & Lowell gem, the same could be said in death, given the fact that a living person can’t form a personal relationship with a deceased person, so they must ‘stimulate’ what memories they do have.

11. Miguel, “The Valley”

💿 WILDHEART 🏷 RCA • 📅 2015

Miguel, Wildheart [📷: RCA]“I’m your pimp, I’m your pope, I’m your poster baby

Confess your sins to me while you masturbate…

This is art babe, play your part baby

Then we all get paid.” – Miguel

🎙 Miguel is horny AF on 🎵 “The Valley,” a highlight from his 2015 album, 💿 WILDHEART.  Miguel is the director of this pornographic film, completely in the driver’s seat… Of course, he wants this nameless porn star to give her all in this role, including self-play.  It’s erotic stuff Miguel dishes out for sure. He’s always been good at delivering musically when it comes to S-E-X.  Throw in a masturbation reference and things only get dirtier and freakier.

12. John Lennon & Yoko Ono, “Give Peace a Chance – Ultimate Mix”

💿 GIMME SOME TRUTH. 🏷 Calderstone Productions Limited • 📅 2020

John Lennon, GIMME SOME TRUTH. [📷: Calderstone Productions Limited]“Everybody’s talking about

Revolution, Evolution, Masturbation, Flagellation, Regulation

Integrations, mediations, United Nations, congratulations.” – John Lennon

I wouldn’t necessarily associate peace and masturbation together but somehow, it happens in the pacifist rock classic, 🎵 “Give Peace a Chance”.  It’s funny how one lyric or even one word can earn a song a controversial stamp.  Protest anthems are often elevated to controversy anyways but throwing in the m-word still raises eyebrows even in the 2020s.  The mindset is believed to be that 🎙 John Lennon was referencing adult entertainment being more readily available, hence more solo fun going down.  That said, the line really has nothing to do with the peace he sings about, though, I suppose the experience could result in much-needed peace from pent-up tension.

13. St. Vincent, “Birth in Reverse”

💿 St. Vincent🏷 Loma Vista / Republic • 📅 2014

St. Vincent [📷: Loma Vista/Republic]“Oh, what an ordinary day

Take out the garbage, masturbate

I’m still holding for the laugh…”

🏆 Grammy-winning alternative artist 🎙 St. Vincent isn’t literally referring to birth in reverse on 🎵 “Birth In Reverse” (💿 St. Vincent, 2014).  She figuratively plays on the idea of ‘death’ or the sort of predictability and boringness that can be everyday life.  Essentially, it’s as if there is no change of pace – the routines remain the same.  That means, even solo play is boring AF.  Sigh, what a sad, mundane day!

14. Sam Fender, “Poundshop Kardashians”

💿 Dead Boys – EP • 🏷 Sam Fender • 📅 2018

Sam Fender, Dead Boys (EP) [📷: Polydor]“We idolize idiots

Masturbate to their sex tapes.”

Yes and yes, I concur 🎙 Sam Fender.  You don’t even need the context of 🎵 “Poundshop Kardashians” to grasp this, folks.  We, societally, look up to people that lack any sense of intellect.  If they are desirable, such as the Kardashians whom this song namechecks, we literally lose our minds worshipping them.  And, if they happen to have a hot sex tape, well, you can bet time is being wasted 🎵 “For a Nut” 🥜, to quote 🎙 Future.

15. Cannibal Corpse, “Necropedophile”

💿 Tomb of the Mutilated 🏷 Metal Blade • 📅 1992

Cannibal Corpse, Tomb of the Mutilated [📷: Metal Blade]“Here I cum, blood gushes from

Bleeding black blood, her head disconnected

As I came, viciously I cut

Through her jugular vein, she’s already dead

Masturbating with her severed head

My lubrication, her decomposition

Spending my life, molesting dead children.”

Pardon my French but that’s f#cked up. 🎙 Cannibal Corpse is in a league of their own and their lyrics… DISTURBING! The entirety of the album, 💿 Tomb of the Mutilated (1992), is hellish to the nth-effing-degree. 🎵 “Necropedophile” fits right in, with its cruel ejaculatory, decapitation, and masturbatory experience. I have just one question: Who the f#ck comes up with this she-it? #TRAUMATIZED

16. Bloodhound Gang, “I Hope You Die”

💿 Hooray for Boobies 🏷 Geffen • 📅 1999

Bloodhound Gang, Hooray For Boobies [📷: Geffen]“I hope your cellmate thinks he’s God

But C.N.N. refer to him as “Bowling Ball Bag Bob”

Serving time again for abuse of a corpse

Only this time the victim’s a Clydesdale horse

While he masturbates to photos of livestock

He does the Silence of the Lambs dance to Christian Rock

Eats feces and quotes from Deliverance,

And fights with his imaginary playmate Vince.”

Yeah, I’m starting to regret this list now.  I don’t think 🎙 Bloodhound Gang is quite as twisted as 🎙 Cannibal Corpse where on 🎵 “Necropedophile”, but 🎵 “I Hope You Die” is still, um, sketchy AF. Positively speaking, the pop culture references are on-point.  However, that doesn’t atone for necrophilia, bestiality, and totally inappropriate jack-off material.  Yikes!  The only bloodhound I want to talk about is Trumpet!

17. Prince, “Jack U Off”

💿 Controversy🏷 Warner • 📅 1981

Prince, Controversy [📷: Warner]“If you’re looking for somewhere to go

Thought I’d take you to a movie show

Sitting in the back and I’ll jack you off.”

Yeah, Prince, 💿 Controversy indeed. When you name a song 🎵 “Jack U Off,” there really is no gray area. There’s nothing transcendent about what the late musician is ‘doing.’ Oh, and if you were bothered by the fact the featured lyric doesn’t feature the word masturbate itself, never fear – I have another lyric that does!

“Come on over to my neighborhood

We can jump in the sack, and I’ll jack you off

If you’re tired of the masturbator

Little girl, we can go on a date

And if you like, I’ll jack you off.”

Prince, Come [📷: NPG]See, we have a masturbator, which is referencing a sex toy.  Oh, Prince! And to think, Tipper Gore was bothered by 🎵 “Darling Nikki” “masturbating with a magazine!” Also, shout out 🎵 “Pheromone” from his 1994 album, 💿 Come:

“Her eyes are closed but there’s no penetration

He just makes her point the pistol to his nose

While he masturbates and now I see a tear

Heading down towards her smile

What happens next, it all depends upon your style.”

And on that explicit note, we close!
