16 Foreign Car SongsFor the love of foreigns, our Foreign Cars Songs Playlist assembles 16 songs referencing foreign cars.  Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, and Future all make appearances.

Musicians love foreign cars – love them.  Particularly rappers. One is hard-pressed to find a flex-track where a foreign automobile isn’t name-dropped.  Foreign cars often represent status, illustrating the come-up from being poor to being filthy, stinking rich.  In another of the many playlists and evergreens gracing The Musical Hype, this playlist assembles 16 songs that reference foreign cars.  Not every song is explicitly about a foreign, but the foreign at least plays a role.

Rick Ross, Rather You Than Me © Epic1. Rick Ross Ft. Meek Mill & Anthony Hamilton, “Lamborghini Doors”

Album: Rather You Than Me, 2017

Rick Ross loves his foreigns. Time and time again, he’s referenced his rides. On “Lamborghini Doors,” he enlists Meek Mill and Anthony Hamilton for the assist about his Lambo. Interestingly, Anthony Hamilton guests, but he doesn’t deliver the hook, sigh Instead, Hamilton is used for an interlude.  Nonetheless, his tone is radiant. Meek Mill handles hook duties, not to mention a ferocious verse in which he’s on autopilot.

“Started off poor with plans to own more / To ridin’ under stars, the life we lived for / Dreamin’ of things we can’t afford / But now we comin’ up like them Lamborghini doors, ooh.”

As for the Boss himself, he’s automatic too.

“Them Lamborghini doors, you see me steppin’ out.”

2 Chainz, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music © Def Jam2. 2 Chainz, “Rolls Royce B*tch”

Album: Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, 2017

“Rolls Royce B*tch” would’ve been at home on our 12 Songs That Name-Drop the Rolls-Royce Wraith Playlist.  Oh well, we saved it for the broader Foreign Cars playlist.  All is well! The record is exactly what you think it is – a flex track.  On the hook, 2 Chainz raps:

Rolls-Royce, b*tch, yeah the doors go dat way / The doors go dat way, the doors go dat way.”

Lil Peep, Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 1 © Lil Peep3. Lil Peep, “Benz Truck (Гелик)”

Album: Come over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1, 2017

20-year old rapper-singer Lil Peep (born Gustav Åhr) is quite an interesting guy. He’s interesting in regards to his background, personality, and his abundance of body ink. “Benz Truck,” presumably referencing a Russian version of the Mercedes Benz G-Class SUV, showcases why Lil Peep is so unique. From the start, the sound is dark and foreboding.  A sense of mysteriousness amplifies the darkness.  The lyrics lack depth, but the vibe is alluring for whatever reason.

“Lil Bo Peep with a brand-new b*tch / In the back of the club with the GothBoiClique / Iced out teeth on an iced-out whip / With the limousine tints, you can suck my dick / Friends switch up when you in a Benz truck / Always wanna f*ck, tell a b*tch, ‘Good luck’ / Always wanna f*ck ‘cause I just came up / Drugs in my nose, good drugs in my cup.”

For Lil Peep, his Benz truck represents his come up in the rap game.  “Benz Truck (Гелик)” appeared in a previous playlist, 10 Mercedes Benz Songs | Playlist.

Frank Ocean, Blonde © Boys Don't Cry4. Frank Ocean, “White Ferrari”

Album: Blonde

“Bad luck to talk on these rides / Mine on the road / Your dilated eyes watch the clouds float / White Ferrari…”

Frank Ocean is a beast – period. He enlists Bon Iver on the radiant “White Ferrari.” A pristine example of alternative fused with pop and urban cues, there’s clearly magic.

“I care for you still and I will forever / That was my part of the deal, honest / We got so familiar / Spending each day of the year / White Ferrari.”

Is this really about a car? No, of course not.  This wouldn’t be Frank Ocean if her weren’t using metaphors.  This is all about love, evidenced by the aforementioned lyrics.

Suicide Squad - The Album © Atlantic5. Rick Ross & Skrillex, “Purple Lamborghini”

Album: Suicide Squad: The Album, 2016

“Ain’t no mercy, a-ain’t no mercy / Got that purple Lamborghini, purple Lamborghini lurkin’.”

Again, Rick Ross loves his foreigns.  That point can’t be articulated enough. On “Purple Lamborghini” from Suicide Squad: The Album, Rick is at his best.  He clearly shows why he’s a “boss.”

“Biggest boss and I’ve been the trillest / I’m a bigger problem when I click with Skrillex / Murder on my mind, it’s time to pray to God / My revolver’s not religious, the revolution’s born.”

Skrillex ‘does his thing’ as well, giving Ross an energetic, malicious backdrop to rap over.
