Some songs are best listened to after dark! Some of the songs featured on this colorful, risqué, sexy/sexual list hail from the After Dark 🕛 🌃 column. Other songs are steamy gems that caused my ears to perked-up after crossing paths whether in the past or present. Regardless of the source, these songs are sure to make you feel some type of way
🎧 15 Steamy Songs Best Listened to After Dark, Vol. 2 features 🎙 Ari Lennox, 🎙 Beyoncé, 🎙 Demi Lovato, 🎙 Lucky Daye, and 🎙 SoMo among others. The list is comprised primarily of pop and R&B. Without further ado, check out this often NSFW, after dark playlist!
1. Beyoncé, “Cuff It”
💿 RENAISSANCE • 🏷 Parkwood Entertainment / Columbia • 📅 2022
When we think of cuffing, we think of locking down that partner exclusively. All indications on “Cuff It” suggest this sexy joint is monogamous. That said, monogamous doesn’t have to be vanilla either. Clearly, Beyoncé is having a hell of a night, and the feeling should be the same for the audience listening to this slickly produced pop joint. See the third verse: “Hypersonic, sex erotic / On my body, boy, you got it / Hit them ‘draulics while I ride it / Got me actin’ hella thotty.” Woo! Jesus! If you have any plans to “fuck up the night,” I highly encourage you to allow Queen Bey and “Cuff It” to serve as the soundtrack. It’s one of the best songs from the totally stacked RENAISSANCE.

2. Lucky Daye, “Feels Like”
💿 Candydrip • 🏷 Keep Cool / RCA • 📅 2022
During the course of “Feels Like,” Lucky Daye is supported by awesome production work (🎛 D’Mile). There’s a soulful groove and of course, colorful keyboard/synth work. Shifting back to the singing and focusing on form, the best section of the song is the simple but potent, catchy chorus:
“It should feel like love whenever we touch
But we can’t get stuck in the color of lust
Don’t it feel like love, love?
Feels like love, love.”
Notably, there’s a unique change of pace in the final minute-and-a-half of the song in the third verse. Here, Daye moves away from the lit falsetto to deeper rapped and spoken word vocals. All told, “Feels Like” is a marvelous R&B record.

3. Jazmine Sullivan, “BPW”
💿 Heaux Tales Mo’ Tales: The Deluxe • 🏷 RCA • 📅 2022
The chorus summarizes while the verses highlight the pleasure being given. In the first verse, Sullivan sings, “Tell me how you never ever had it like this / And it’s a privilege to let you hit / So, act accordingly.” In the second and third verses, it gets even more NSFW. “Gas me up / Talk that shit that make me wanna back it up,” Sullivan encourages her man in the second verse. In the third, it’s that “Bomb head and the best sex,” “Great pussy is the best flex,” and my favorite:
“And when we finished, you be outta breath
Tryna make you wanna cry
And have you thanking God
Sayin’ that you’re so blessed.”
While explicit and NSFW, “BPW” is thought-provoking. Heaux Tales Mo’ Tales, as a whole, is a great discussion piece.

4. Role Model, “Masturbation Song”
💿 Rx • 🏷 Interscope • 🗓 2022
If you prejudge “masturbation song,” you’ll probably go in expecting Role Model to be anything but a role model – couldn’t resist! Surely, there’s a ‘load’ of dirty talk and swear words. Honestly, that’s NOT the case at all. Even the production is totally unexpected, with a tender backdrop (🎛 Spencer Stewart). Pillsbury delivers a sexy, vulnerable performance. Sure, he experiences the pleasure of the act he commits but the focus is on her: “I close my eyes / And I’m right above you / Face in your thighs / You said, ‘I love you.’” In the second verse, the perspective of the ‘solo play’ shifts to her as he sings, “You close your eyes / And I’m right behind you / It’s like I’m inside / When I’m not beside you.” Sexy. Of course, Tucker does reference the power of photos (hers) and indulging too much (“Lights going dim, my limb is blue”), but again, this ‘blinding’ song is more surprising than not. So, what’s the worst sin that Role Model commits? Probably committing to such an un-nuanced song title like 🎵 “masturbation song”.

5. Kim Petras, “They Wanna F–k”
💿 Slut Pop (EP) • 🏷 Amigo / Republic • 🗓 2022
The question is, exactly who “wanna f#¢k” according to Kim Petras? Well, all the boys, of course – what did you expect! See exhibit A, the chorus:
“Them LA boys, they wanna f#¢k
Them New York boys, they wanna f#¢k
Them Euro boys, they wanna f#¢k
Them Dubai boys, they wanna f#¢k
Them Christian boys, they wanna f#¢k
Them Tokyo boys, they wanna f#¢k
Them good ol’ boys, they wanna f#¢k
Them crazy boys, they wanna f#¢k.”
As you can see, participants include American boys, international boys, Christian boys, and “Them good ol’ boys.” Ultimately, “They Wanna Fuck” is silly – very tongue-in-cheek. Even so, it’s ‘irresistibly delicious’ thanks to that undeniable beat and ample personality from Kim Petras.

6. Years & Years, “Intimacy”
💿 Night Call • 🏷 Polydor • 🗓 2022
What’s interesting is that Olly views intimacy in two different ways. Casual intimacy is associated with casual sex, which he references throughout “Intimacy” positively and negatively. “No need to be pampered to be your man,” Olly sings, continuing, “If all you got is under the covers then I’m good with that.” Of course, he also desires something deeper, even if he’s giving mixed messages: “Your sex is heaven / As far as I’m concerned / I want you to stay / But I don’t want you to be another lesson learned.” “Intimacy” gives us the best of both worlds from Years & Years. Sure, there’s awesome sex, but also, it explores going deeper, transcending sex.

7. Ari Lennox, “Leak It” (Ft. Chlöe)
💿 age/sex/location • 🏷 Dreamville / Interscope • 🗓 2022
Beyond the sexy vibes established early on lyric, the rich guitar and lush background vocals are a welcome way to kick off this slow jam. Besides her own vocals that encourage undressing anywhere, Lennox taps 🎙 Chlöe (Chlöe Bailey) for the assist. Lennox establishes herself early on with Chlöe complementing her in the second verse: “I’m leakin’, you got me drippin’ / Holy water, that’s what you drinkin’.” Ooh, wee sweet Jesus! It gets more X-rated, considering Bailey approves of “Million—dollar movie, we can make a tape / Everybody watchin’, don’t care what they say.” Yeah, I’m speechless!

8. SoMo, “First”
💿 The Answers • 🏷 Republic • 🗓 2017
“You lose if you get it first / Get it first, let it burst…” Hmm, so, this clearly deals with pleasure – the ‘O’ word comes to mind. Continuing with the chorus:
“…My job is to make it [moan sound]
Don’t hold it back, get it first
You lose if you get it first (Raining, pouring)
Get it first, let it burst (Raining, it’s storming)
My job is to make it [moan sound] (Raining, pouring)
Don’t hold it back, get it first (Raining, it’s storming).”
So, what does the [moaning] censor? The word squirt… No worries, because SoMo does everything in his horny little power to make sure you know what he’s getting at. “Raining, pouring” and “Raining, it’s storming.” SoMo doesn’t stop there, of course. In the second verse, he asserts, “I got a Tonka truck, baby, can I put it in drive?” Guys love to talk about their penis, don’t they? There’s also more roaring too. Notably, in the bridge, SoMo wants to go all-in on her – “I’m playing Russian Roulette with that.’ Basically, he needs to know, can he? I’m trying to cool off following such a sexy song not to mention that risqué, ultra-sexy music video. Getting the eye candy through the visual accompanying the SEX-driven song is a big-time bonus. You can’t unsee that 😍!

9. Lady Gaga, “Sexxx Dreams”
💿 ARTPOP • 🏷 Interscope • 🗓 2013
Lady Gaga is bisexual, so we get some LGBTQ+ flavor with “Sexxx Dreams” too – the spicier the better, baby! We know for sure the object of her affection is a girl, and the nameless girl is dating a man. The more BI the better! That doesn’t stop Gaga, who sings on the chorus, “Heard your boyfriend was away for the weekend / Wanna meet at my place?” Naughty girl, Lady Gaga! Making things even more titillating, Gaga references that ‘solo time’ if you catch my drift: “When I lay in bed, I touch myself and think of you.” Holy SHITake mushrooms! Masturbation? Give her credit for admitting to self-pleasure – it wouldn’t be her first time either. In the second verse, we get some clever lyrics, despite the raunch factor that is “Sexxx Dreams”: “We’re both convicted criminals of thought / Let’s white (By the one before) / Globe the bed.” All told, 🎵 “Sexxx Dreams” is an edgy, fun pop joint that finds Lady Gaga being transparent about her feelings. This slickly produced joint (Gaga and 🎛 DJ White Shadow) deserved more love!

10. Ginuwine, “Pony”
💿 Ginuwine…the Bachelor • 🏷 Sony Music Entertainment • 🗓 1996
“If you’re horny, let’s do it, ride it, my pony
My saddle’s waitin’, come and jump on it.”
With those looks and that lustful invitation, who could resist that ride? Besides the chorus, Ginuwine sets up his horniness on the verses. In the first, he’s searching for a rider and asserts, “Girl, when I break you off / I promise that you won’t wanna get off.” The second is steamier: “Send chills up and down your spine / Juices flowing down your thigh.” In addition to all this big di¢k energy Lumpkin serves up, notably, 🎛 Timbaland famously produced this top ten Billboard Hot 100 hit. “Pony” is a prime example of the producer at his finest. Also, worth mentioning, “Pony” got an incredibly sexy music video 🎶📼 – fitting. I mean, a dancing Ginuwine with his shirt open…nuff said! I did mention Lumpkin was a handsome man, right?
Appears in 🔻:
11. Sammie, “Times 10” (Ft. Lil Baby)
💿 Everlasting • 🏷 Star Camp Music / EMPIRE • 🗓 2019
At least in the second verse of this sexed-up joint he admits to his horniness (“I’ma dive in deep, I’m horny”). Holy shiitake mushrooms! He has no tact whatsoever, commencing the verse with, “Whenever you fu¢k me, I feel like I’m high / When you get on top, you enjoyin’ the ride.” My, my, my! Of course, 🏆 Grammy-nominated rapper 🎙 Lil Baby gets into the mix too. In the third verse, like Sammie, he plans on keeping the orgasmic experience going complimenting her that “That pussy so good, I tell all your friends.” Got day-um! Honestly, that’s about the size of “Times 10.”
Appears in 🔻:
12. Demi Lovato, “Bones”
💿 HOLY FVCK • 🏷 Island • 🗓 2022
It should go without saying that the third is real on “Bones.” It gets even more real in the chorus, the centerpiece:
“Let me jump your bones
Start to lose control
Taking off your clothes
No one has to know.”
Yah, holy fizzuck, Demi! That said, can you blame them? Think about someone whom you longed for so much and had ‘naughty intentions.’ We’ve all been in a situation where we wanted to jump someone’s bones. Ah, there’s nothing more fulfilling and stimulating than a rocking joint about sex, right? HOLY FVCKING, RIGHT! “Bones” is a guilty pleasure from HOLY FVCK that features beastly production and titillating lyrics. We all want to F– sometimes 😈.
Appears in 🔻:
13. Chris Brown, “Sex Memories” (Ft. Ella Mai)
💿 Breezy • 🏷 RCA • 🗓 2022
There’s no doubt that sex isn’t the modus operandi. Brown is horny, horny, horny, honey! “Put them legs up in the sky,” he sings in the pre-chorus, continuing, “Feel like you gon’ fly, like we fuckin’ on a cloud / Sextin’ to me, bring me right to my knees.” Man, oh, man! Of course, the ultimate goal are those “sex memories” he mentions during the chorus. “When you look at the bed, you think of me.” Da-yum! Fello 🏆 Grammy winner, 🎙 Ella Mai delivers the second verse, also sexed-up: “‘Cause I’ll flip it up / While you take it down / In the end, boy, you gonna want another round.” Also, it’s worth noting that during the third verse, Brown states, “I have the camera, you know it set the mood, yeah,” with Mai adding, “let’s make a movie.” Wow! “Sex Memories” indeed! Shout out to slick production by 🎛 The Audibles making the listening experience even more sexually charged.
Appears in 🔻:
14. Lizzo, “Naked”
💿 Special • 🏷 Nice Life / Atlantic • 🗓 2022
Actually, 🎵 “Naked” ISN’T really sexual let alone scandalous. The ‘nudity’ is an example of Lizzo promoting self-love, body positivity, and speaking to presumably a lover regarding love. “Can I be discreet with you? Will you keep all my secrets?” she sings in the first verse, continuing, “I just wanna lay it down and open up the deepness.” Wow! Of course, the chorus is where she makes her most profound statement, accepting and loving herself and looking to receive acceptance and appreciation from her lover:
“I’m naked
Love how you look at me naked
Come make this body feel sacred
I’m a big girl, can you take it?
Naked.”
There’s still sex involved – to an extent – but it’s secondary to “Naked” as opposed to being primary.
Appears in 🔻:
15. Marvin Sease, “Candy Licker”
💿 Marvin Sease • 🏷 The Island Def Jam Music Group • 🗓 1987
Throughout the funky but filthy, 10-minute-long 🎵 “Candy Licker”, Marvin Sease makes it clear that her pleasure is the modus operandi. He argues too many men are only concerned with their own pleasure and don’t care that she receives pleasure too. That’s why he asserts, “I will lick you till you cum, I’m not lying girl / I just wanna be, eight days a week, your candy licker girl.” Furthermore, Sease takes on this conscience-free persona, Jodi, who will go to any lengths to get the licking done! Sure, them other guys “Don’t give a damn whether you cum /… But I’m Jodi, baby / I will lick you up, lick you down…” Woo! We’ll leave it at that!
