1. Liam Payne, “Strip That Down”
Ft. Quavo
Writers: Brian Thompson, Charles William Miller, Ed Sheeran, Harold Ray Brown, Howard E. Scott, Le Roy Lonnie Jordan, Lee Oskar, Liam Payne, Morris Dickerson, Orville Burrell, Quavious Marshall, Rickardo Ducent, Shaun Pizzonia, Steve Mac & Sylvester Allen | Producer: Steve Mac
LP1 • Capitol • 2019
“You know I used to be in 1D (now I’m out, free).” Liberation! Life after participating in a boy band requires adjustments. In most cases, such adjustments include a more adult, sexier image. On his debut single “Strip That Down” (LP1, 2019), Liam Payne leaves the boyish ways of One Direction behind in favor of being a sexually mature man. Payne isn’t as blunt as a later entry on this playlist, but the lyrics are suggestive, speaking to the sexual liberalism of young adults.
“So, put your hands on my body And swing that round for me, baby (swing) You know I love it when the music's loud But c'mon, strip that down for me.”
“Strip That Down” also appears on the playlist, Songs Where Musicians Were Sexually Awakened. Also, Liam showing some skin on the cover artwork earned him a spot on our 33 Album Covers with Artwork Featuring the Shirtless Male.
2. Mansionz, “Strip Club”
Producer: Blackbear & Mike Posner
Mansionz • Island • 2017
Blackbear and Mike Posner make quite the pair. Mansionz was certainly an intriguing album from 2017 that didn’t get the buzz it deserved. The tropical pop of “Strip Club” should win over every college fraternity with its mellow, nonchalant vibes. There’s no substance, nor was substance ever intended, save for drinks.
The horniness knows no ends.
“It’s fuckin' poetry how she pole dance You should come and do that shit up on Pos’ pants Bring them hoes, reach your toe, tell ‘em hold hands We just wanna fuck, no slow dance, romance…”
For their own shirtless endeavors, blackbear and Mike Posner landed on our 33 Album Covers with Artwork Featuring the Shirtless Male.

3. Troye Sivan, “BITE”
Writers: Allie X, Bram Inscore, Brett McLaughlin & Troye Sivan Mellet | Producers: Alex JL Hiew, Allie X, Bram Inscore, Brett McLaughlin & SLUMS
Blue Neighbourhood • Capitol • 2015
“Don’t you wanna see a man up close? A phoenix in the fire.” According to an interview with Pop Buzz, Troye Sivan stated, “‘BITE’ is about my first time in a gay club.” He goes on to describe the chaotic atmosphere, asserting he “wanted to capture the chaos”: “[I was] taken aback by the sticky floor, the shirtless men, and everything else.” “BITE” doesn’t include the word strip in its title, but Sivan speaks of shirtless men – aka stripped of their shirts in the gay club. It qualifies!
“The rapture in the dark puts me at ease The blind eye of the storm Let’s go for a walk down Easy street Where you can be reborn.”
“BITE” also appears on the playlist, Songs Where Musicians Were Sexually Awakened.
4. Luke Bryan, “Strip it Down”
Writers: Jon Nite, Luke Bryan & Ross Copperman | Producers: Jeff Stevens & Jody Stevens
Kill the Lights • Capitol Nashville • 2015
Luke Bryan has had his fair share of utterly corny country music. As recent as 2017, Bryan shocked the world by revealing his objectophilia on “Light Me Up,” sigh. Before the setback, on his 2015 album Kill the Lights, Bryan impressed with ballad “Strip It Down.” Basically, Bryan wants to take his relationship back old-school – get that mojo going again.
“Oh, strip it down, strip it down Back to you and me like it used to be When it was an old back road with an old school beat Cowboy boots by your little bare feet Let it out, tell me right now Everything I need in them white cotton sheets Dirty dance me slow in the summertime heat Feel my belt turn loose from these old blue jeans...”
5. Lukas Graham, “Strip No More”
Writers: Brandon O’Bryant Beal, Christopher Steven Brown, Lukas Forchhammer, Magnus “Magnúm” Larsson, Mark Falgren, Morten Pilegaard, Morten Ristorp, Sebastian Fogh & Stefan Forrest | Producers: Future Animals & Pilo
Lukas Graham • Warner • 2016
“She said she’d be working tonight / I said cool I’ll drop by and she looked at me, smiled, and said: ‘That’s great, baby’.” Oh boy. Lukas Graham frontman Lukas Forchhammer meets a stripper who graduates from stripping on single “Strip No More.” On the chorus, Lukas asks “How come you don’t strip no more?” On the third verse, he gets to experience her talents, and he’s quite the satisfied customer.
“I was at table three, B.Y.O.B. and Destiny sat next to me She asked me if I liked her dance I told her ‘I’m your biggest fan’ Then she took me by the hand, and turned this boy into a man Inside a private room, I hope you understand I was like uh, uh (uh, uh) She made me go wee-hee (wee-hee).”

6. Rae Sremmurd, “Shake it Fast”
Ft. Juicy J
Writers: A. Brown, Bryce Smith, Jordan Houston, Khalif Brown, Michael L. Williams II & Stephen Hybicki | Producer: Steve “The Sauce” Hybicki
Sremmlife 2 • Interscope • 2016
The screenshot for the accompany music video clip for “Shake it Fast” sums up what the record’s about. Rae Sremmurd clearly “make it rain” with bills of money. Within the first couple of seconds of the video, there’s some ‘cellulite’ and twerk action occurring. Even more fitting, Juicy J comes along for the ride for this strip anthem.
“Shake it fast, shake it fast, shake it fast, bitch shake it fast Don't be playin’ when you see us, see us spendin’ cash Don't be playin’ when you see us, see us spendin’ fast Shake it fast, shake it fast, shake it fast, girl shake it fast Don’t be playin’ when you see us, see us spendin’ cash Don’t be playin’ when you see us, see us spendin’ fast.” – Slim Jxmmi
7. French Montana, “Pop That”
Ft. Rick Ross, Drake & Lil Wayne
Writers: Anthony L. Norris, Aubrey Graham, Karim Kharbouch, Luther Campbell, Robert Ross & Wayne Carter
Excuse My French • Interscope • 2013
“Don’t stop, pop that, don’t stop / Pop that pop that pop that.” It’s fitting that “Pop That” commences with an Uncle Luke sample. If there was any doubt regarding the subject matter of this French Montana gem, well, French and his compadres clarify throughout the course of the record.
“Work, work, work, work, work, work What you twerk with Throw it, bust it open Show me what you twerk with Ass so fat need a lap dance…”
8. Juicy J, “Bandz a Make Her Dance”
Ft. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz
Writers: Dwayne Carter, Jordan Houston, Justin Garner, Mike WiLL Made-It & Tauheed Epps | Producer: Mike WiLL Made-It
Stay Trippy • Columbia • 2013
“Bands a make her dance, bands a make her dance / All these chicks poppin’ pussy, I’m just poppin’ bands / Bands a make her dance, bands a make her dance / These chicks clappin’, and they ain’t using hands.” The best way to describe hook of “Bandz a Make Her Dance,” is sketchy, yet infectious. Essentially, Juicy J is throwing money (bands) at these strippers to satisfy his lust. If it wasn’t clear, the strippers are clapping using their cheeks…

9. 2 Chainz, “I Luv Dem Strippers”
Ft. Nicki Minaj
Writers: Brandon Henshaw, Onika Maraj, Ray Parker, Jr., Rico Brooks, Tauheed Epps & Travis McFetridge | Producers: YoungStarr Beatz
Based on a T.R.U. Story • Def Jam • 2012
2 Chainz isn’t one for sublety or deep subject matter. “I Luv Dem Strippers” needs no further explanation. Assisted by Nicki Minaj (remember their collabo on “Beez in the Trap”?), it should be noted that the same year, she asserted “I Endorse These Strippers” (Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded the Re-Up).
“All my bitches different, all my diamonds glistening My weed so loud, everybody listen They say it's for the birds, so I bought a kilo My Boost Mobile chirping, it must be my amigo.”
10. Chris Brown, “Strip”
Ft. Kevin McCall
Writers: Amber Streeter, Chris Brown, Christopher Whitacre, J. “Lonny” Bereal, Justin Henderson & Kevin K-MAC McCall | Producers: Jesus Garnica & Tha Bizness
Fortune • RCA • 2012
“Yeah, I wanna see your legs in the air / Baby don’t worry about your hair / All those tracks / I don’t give a damn ‘bout that.” On “Strip,” bad boy Chris Brown has just one thing on his mind – sex. There’s not bigger, more meaningful or transcendent message to be found. “Strip” is what it is – sex on the track.
“Girl I just wanna see you strip right now cause it’s late babe Girl I just wanna see you strip Girl take your time with it Girl I just wanna see you strip God damn you sexy, for me God damn you sexy, baby God damn you sexy Girl, I just wanna see you.”
11. T-Pain, “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper)”
Ft. Killer Mike
Writer & Producer: F. Najm (T-Pain)
Rappa Ternt Sanga • Zomba • 2005
“Got the body of a goddess / Got eyes butter pecan brown / I see you girl (droppin’ low) / She comin’ down from the ceiling (to the flo’).” In this context, T-Pain uses the world strip with the obvious – strippers. The chorus only expounds upon it.
“She poppin’, she rollin’, she rollin’ She climbin’ that pole and I’m in love with a stripper She trippin’, she playin’, she playin’ I’m not goin’ nowhere girl, I'm stayin’, I’m in love with a stripper.”
