11 Luxurious Songs About Champagne 🎧 features music by BJ The Chicago Kid, Jim Jones, Lady A, Ne-Yo & Taylor Swift.
Sometimes, alcohol 🍺 is ⛽ for a playlist’s 🔥. Sometimes, it’s ⛽ for, well, drunkenness 🥴. In this case, we eschew the drunkenness and get specific about the alcoholic content. Not sure that that even makes a lick of sense but indulge me if you will. After dropping 🎧 Champagne: 5ive Songs No. 30 (2020), a full-fledge champagne 🍾 list was always in the works. But, somewhere along the way, it remained in the backlog as opposed to being finished and ultimately published. The thing is, even since the miniature list, we indulged in more drank via 🎧 15 Songs Associated with Alcohol to Some Extent.
Okay, okay, I know you want to know the point, and so here it is. After months of putting it off, 🎧 11 Luxurious Songs About Champagne 🍾 is finally complete and sees the light of day. This champagne exclusive affair features music by 🎙 BJ The Chicago Kid, 🎙 Jim Jones, 🎙 Lady A, 🎙 Ne-Yo and 🎙 Taylor Swift among others. So, if you’re of legal age, and it’s in the budget, grab some Dom Pérignon 🍾, headphones 🎧, and check out this ‘bubbly’ list!
1. Taylor Swift, “Champagne problems”
💿 Evermore • 🏷 Taylor Swift • 🗓 2020
“Dom Pérignon, you brought it / No crowd of friends applauded / Your hometown skeptics called it / Champagne problems.” Ah, that could only be the genius of 🏆 Grammy-winning superstar 🎙 Taylor Swift! Specifically, that’s the sheer excellence of 🎵 “Champagne problems,” a highlight from Swift’s second surprise album of 2020, 💿 Evermore.
On “Champagne Problems,” Taylor Swift delivers lovely vocals, that perfectly fit the folksy aesthetic. No big vocals chocked-full of elaborate runs are necessary. Here, the listener is given delicious, harmonized vocals, with piano serving as the primary accompaniment within the background. The songwriting, as demonstrated above, speaks for itself, with a relatively familiar, relatable topic. Also, worth noting, Swift is definitely ‘loose’ when she sings, “‘She would’ve made such a lovely bride / What a shame she’s fucked in the head,’ they said.” Damn those “Champagne problems!”

2. Jim Jones, “Pop Champagne”
Ft. Ron Browz & Juelz Santana
💿 Pray IV Reign • 🏷 Ether Boy / Universal Motown / Sony Music Entertainment • 🗓 2009
In the mid aughts, rapper 🎙 Jim Jones had a moderately successful run. He wasn’t the biggest rapper mind you, but he was able to find some success. His breakout hit, of course, was “We Fly High”, arguably one of the forgotten gems of the 00s. On his big major label album, 💿 Pray IV Reign, we saw the best of the East Coast rapper, led by the set’s crowning achievement, 🎵 “Pop Champagne.”
What made “Pop Champagne” a surefire winner, you ask? Well, let’s start with the awesome production by 🎛 Ron Browz. The record has minimalist elements with the drum programming itself playing a sizeable role. It’s not all drums though, as Browz incorporates gnarly ‘tape brass’ if you will, perhaps the coolest element. Then, of course, Browz has the responsibility of also delivering the centerpiece of the record, the hook, with all its quirkiness and most of all, autotune.
“How we ball in the club I know you hate it Mommy dancin’ on the floor all like she naked When she lay down with you I know she fake it All the girls give it to me I ain’t gotta take it Oh! Pop champagne!”
Browz doesn’t cede the spotlight on the first verse, very much putting his stamp on Jim Jones’ joint! No worries, as Jones brings his signature, deep-voiced, colorful flow to the second verse. It’s quite 2009, but at the time, his rhyme, “We superstars no Lupe, we could do this like a duet” was pretty rad (Lupe Fiasco earned a top-10 Billboard Hot 100 hit with “Superstar”). This blurb is running long, but gotta mention 🎙 Juelz Santana, who drops the bars on the third verse:
“Baby, I wanna see you work (Go) See you dance (Go) Without no shirt, without those pants Pop champagne ain’t a damn thing change Spray it in the air make it champagne rain.”
#Banger!
3. Katy Perry, “Champagne Problems”
💿 Smile • 🏷 Capitol • 🗓 2020
“I wanna see you soon as I wipe the crust from my eyes / ‘Til the day I die, could you be the love of my life?” Maybe? In the context of 💿 Smile, 🎵 “Champagne Problems” keeps the album groovy, upbeat, and sleek AF in the production department. Although it is set in a minor key, 🎙 Katy Perry’s ‘champagne problems’ are actually pretty enjoyable on the ears, particularly the strings and namely, the catchy chorus.
“‘Cause, baby all we got (All we got are) Are champagne problems now (That's all we got) ‘Cause, baby, all we got (All we got are) Are champagne problems now.”

4. Nick Jonas, “Champagne Problems”
💿 Last Year Was Complicated • 🏷 Island • 🗓 2016
“How many times have we been here before? / How many pieces have to break? / So many reasons not to celebrate / But I hate to see you cry, so let’s drink before goodbye…” With 💿 Last Year Was Complicated, we get adult 🎙 Nick Jonas – praise the lord! Sorry for the sacrilege, Father. Anyways 🎵 “Champagne Problems,” the second track off the album, continues showcases the edge (and a minor key) following opener “Voodoo”.
A song where misery is best drowned in alcohol (“I hate to see you cry, so let’s drink before goodbye”), “Champagne Problems” is by no means a miserable listen. Nick sounds looser than ever, despite the tension characterized within the record.

5. Lady A, “Champagne Night (from Songland)”
💿 Ocean [Deluxe] • 🏷 Big Machine • 🗓 2020
If you haven’t seen the NBC show 📺 Songland, well, you are totally missing out! Lady A served as one of the high-profile musical groups to select a song to record in the studio. Ultimately, 🎙 Hilary Scott, 🎙 Charles Kelley, and 🎙 Dave Haywood settled on 🎵 “Champagne Night,” written by Madeline Merlo. Of course, by the time “Champagne Night” arrives to the listeners, it ends up with a million songwriters, including the three members of Lady A, the three Songland songwriters (🎼✍ Ester Dean, 🎼✍ Shane McAnally, and 🎼✍ Ryan Tedder), plus even more writers! Regardless, the end result is quite enjoyable, fun, and well-rounded country record. The chorus is quite a treat.
“Raisin’ plastic cups to a life of luxury C’est la vie on a Friday We get dressed up in a blue jean tux And we go where we don't hear the highway Don’t need doubles and bubbles To get in all kinds of trouble Out in the country Don’t need a crystal chandelier To have a real good time We’re drinkin’ beer on a champagne night A champagne night.”
“Champagne Night” ultimately appears on the 2020 deluxe version of their 2019 album, 💿 Ocean.

6. Quavo, “Champagne Rosé”
Ft. Madonna & Cardi B
💿 QUAVO HUNCHO • 🏷 Quality Control Music • 🗓 2018
One of the songs that catches the eyes from a collaboration standpoint on 💿 QUAVO HUNCHO, the debut solo album by Quavo is 🎵 “Champagne Rosé.” Notably, 🎙 Madonna appears on the chorus, a repetitive, but memorable portion of the record. She also appears on her own, delivering a distinct sounding fourth verse. “It’s my game / Please let me entertain you / Get inside your vein, too / Intoxicate your brain, ooh.”
🎙 Cardi B also makes rounds, performing the first verse, notably delivering the ‘bullet’ – “I don’t do number two / That’s the type of shit I’m on (woo).” Of course, Quavo, the main attraction, drops a couple of bars himself (“Rose gold mixed with Champagne / End of the night, she David Blaine / Only thing I knew was her name”), though nothing as memorable as Cardi B’s ‘poo’ reference.

7. BJ The Chicago Kid, “Champagne”
💿 1123 • 🏷 Motown • 🗓 2019
“So, no more champagne ‘til midnight.” Noted. 🎙 BJ the Chicago Kid is definitely one of the bright spots in contemporary R&B in 2010s onward. While he’s not a ‘headline-grabber’ you might say, he deserves to be. After a three-year hiatus, the 🏆 Grammy-nominated artist returned with an excellent sophomore album, 💿 1123. Part of the awesomeness of that album is the bubbly, specifically the second track, 🎵 “Champagne.”
BJ gets funky on “Champagne.” Here, the bubbly has got him totally to’ up and sexed-up to the nth degree.
“No more champagne ‘til midnight Because it got me kissin’ all on your body I’m already twisted, got me seein’ double It’s ‘bout to get explicit, you gon’ be in trouble, ooh.”
Also noted BJ. The songwriting isn’t filled with depth, but the point is loud and clear – the alcohol has made him want to have some sexy time with her. Alcohol certainly is potent to say the least.
8. Jay Park, “Champagne Diet”
Ft. 28AV, Gemini & pH-1
💿 H1GHR: Blue Tape • 🏷 H1GHR Music • 🗓 2020
“Every day we on a champagne diet.” Hmm, that’s not a particularly balanced, healthy diet there 🎙 Jay Park. That said, it seems as if he, 🎙 28AV, 🎙 Gemini, and 🎙 pH-1 could care less about the caloric intake on 🎵 “Champagne Diet,” the opener from 2020’s 💿 H1GHR: Blue Tape. As you might expect, this “Champagne Diet” is all flex. On the chorus, Park goes on to say “Cause we winning, winning, winning, winning, winning.” Woo!
Of course, it’s not only Jay Park that contributes to this collaborative number. 28AV takes the first verse, where, towards the end, he informs us, “I got what chu need, wash it down with this / I’m just trynaa ski, all up down dem hips…” Deep stuff right there! On the brief second verse, Gemini incorporates some Korean, which is definitely cool, with some English thrown in as well (“I’m lit like bic /… drip, drip, drip”). pH1 follows with the third verse, continuing this flex, celebration, and drip. Park also has his moment beyond the chorus: “Yeah, we rolling with the good vibes, good vibes / Celebrating sip that champagne all night.” 28AV closes things out, most concerned about, well, assets, and not the financial kind! That’s the kind of shit you get with a “Champagne Diet,” apparently.
9. Ne-Yo, “Champagne Life”
💿 Libra Scale • 🏷 Def Jam • 📅 2010
“It’s all about them fast car nights and them big boat days / Living this champagne life, everything’s okay / Let’s toast it up / Let’s toast it up.” 🏆 Grammy-winning R&B artist 🎙 Ne-Yo commences his fourth studio album, 💿 Libra Scale (2010) with a surefire winner, 🎵 “Champagne Life.” “Champagne Life” finds him living it up, and totally channeling the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Vocally, Ne-Yo sounds both youthful but also beastly, in the most positive way possible! If you want to know what luxury sounds like on the track, well, “Champagne Life” is a perfect realization. It’s less about the content of the bottles than the vibe of the luxurious, carefree life itself.
“Said we play all night, and we play all day Living this champagne life, everything’s okay Let’s toast it up Baby, let’s toast it up Oh, champagne life.”

10. Meghan Trainor, “Champagne Problems”
💿 Thank You • 🏷 Epic • 🗓 2017
Hopefully, you observed that 🎙 Taylor Swift had her fair share of 🎵 “Champagne Problems”. 🎙 Nick Jonas, too, had 🎵 “Champagne Problems”. 🎙 Katy Perry as well. And guess what? 🏆 Grammy-winning pop artist 🎙 Meghan Trainor also has 🎵 “Champagne Problems.” Those ‘problems’ appear on her 2017 sophomore album, 💿 Thank You. Thank You, of course, is most known for its songs 🎵 “Me Too” and 🎵 “NO” both of which were hits but also heavily criticized as well.
On “Champagne Problems,” well, the first thing we hear is the chorus, in all its profundity:
“I got champagne problems, champagne problems So, pour a glass and let’s drink up all my champagne problems.”
Deep… As you might expect, Meghan Trainor’s ‘problems’ are all ‘first world’ problems. I mean, “And I forgot my jacket back at home” or “My new Wi-Fi doesn’t seem to work” isn’t the end of the world – well – maybe the Wi-Fi ‘cause being without it sucks! To her credit, she admits she “can’t complain at all,” hence why these are “Champagne problems” as opposed to serious issues. This groovy record, lighthearted joint was produced by 🎛 Twice as Nice and 🎛 TBHits (Tommy Brown).
11. LMFAO, “Champagne Showers”
Ft. Natalia Kills
💿 Sorry for Party Rocking • 🏷 Interscope • 🗓 2011
Once upon a time, 🎙 LMFAO were popular. It’s true, they had a brief but colorful run in pop music. Of course, as the saying goes, “all good things (and bad things) must come to an end.” Depending on who you are, your opinion on the duo might differ. Nonetheless, they had some hits. 🎵 “Champagne Showers” is one of those hits. Furthermore, it’s a ‘champagne’ song, and therefore, fair game.
“Champagne Showers” benefits from its driving dance groove. The production overall is exceptional – sleek and colorful by all means. From a vocal perspective, featured guest 🎙 Natalia Kills definitely has some interesting vocal effects and auto-tune going on. It fits the electro-pop backdrop and vibe cultivated by the duo. Her key lyric is the pre-chorus/pre-hook where she asserts, “We’re gonna get you wet/ We’re gonna make you sweat/ A night you won’t forget/ Are you ready for…” She definitely sets up the key part – the crowning achievement – the chorus!
“Champagne Showers Champagne showers Pop it in the club We light it up every hour I said Champagne Showers Champagne Showers We pop, pop, pop it in the club We light it up every hour, every hour...”
Is this song utterly ridiculous? Of course, it is! Let’s not forget, the group’s name is LMFAO after all!
