1. Tinashe, “Nasty”
“Nasty” // Tinashe Music Inc. / Nice Life Recording Company // 2024
“Is somebody gonna match my freak?” Now that IS the question, Tinashe. She follows up with, “Is somebody gonna match my nasty?” The contemporary R&B singer has a knack for delivering sexy songs. Honestly, who doesn’t enjoy a good sex song? “Nasty” is Tinashe doing what she does best – S-E-X-Y! She says it best in the intro: “I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty.” Rick Reed and Zack Sekoff produced the record with top-notch results – a sleek, often minimalist instrumental. Besides asking who’s gonna match her freak in the first verse, she asserts, “Pillow talking got my throat raspy.” Oh, snap 🫰! She follows the verse with the refrain, where the quality of the sex is the draw. “If you keep up with me / I’ll keep on coming back,” she sings, adding, “Cause it feels like heaven / When it hurts so bad.” She keeps the same energy in verse two. “Nasty” lacks depth but thrives on sex. Tinashe sings well, brings mad energy, and titillates the hell out of the listener. Omar Apollo loved it!

2. Brennan Jones, “Nasty”
Nasty” // Brennan Jones // 2024
“I’m tryna run it up, tryna stack my racks so fast / These rappers mad ‘cause I already passed ‘em, they in the past tense.” Woo! Just straight up nasty, man! “Nasty” in the hands of rapper Brennan Jones is filled with cockiness and confidence. With his unique flow and a brief one-minute runtime, Jones says nothing ‘brand-new’ but thrives off swagger (“My swag go brazy, they gon’ never see me ‘cause I’m always speeding”). The clichés run abundant: “Now these bitches see me goin’ up, they wanna have my fuckin’ baby / But you can’t fuckin’ date me, I’m not fuckin’ crazy.” What’s a nasty rap banger by a male rapper without bitches 😏 🙄? Besides the expected, hard-flexing rhymes, Jones is accompanied by a nasty-sounding, rhythm, and busy production by Toom. And with that final note, the nastiness is in the books!

3. Ariana Grande, “nasty”
Positions // Republic // 2020
“No more playin’ safe, let’s take it all the way.” Take it all the way, huh? Ariana Grande, girl, you so “Nasty!” With a nasty song title, what did you expect? In the Positions song, not only does she encourage sex, but she also references her private parts. In the pre-chorus, she sings, “I just wanna make time for ya (Yeah) / Swear it’s just right for ya / Like this pussy designed for ya / Ten outta five on ya.” Oh, snap 🫰! Female musicians have grown more candid about their sexual desires. Ari and “Nasty” are a prime example. Not only is “Nasty” sexual, but it is also sexy. The chorus is section to beat:
“Don’t wanna wait on it
Tonight, I wanna get nasty (yeah, yeah)
What you waitin’ for? (What you waitin’ for?)”

4. Russ, “NASTY” / “NASTY (Extended Version)”
“NASTY” // DIEMON // 2023
“Yeah, I want you to get nasty / Do that thing you know I like / No one watchin’, it’s just me and you, alright.” Hmm, wonder what ‘that thing’ is, Russ? It doesn’t take much thought to figure out what he’s getting at on “Nasty.” “Crawl over, grab hold of me / Show me where you wanna take it (Show me),” he raps in the first verse, continuing, “Grab the headboard, hold on tight / I think we ‘bout to break it.” Oh, sugar honey iced tea 🥵 😮💨! The brief, two-minute cut didn’t ‘ignite the pop charts on fire,’ peaking at no. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, “Nasty” ranks among the rapper’s most popular songs and has been streamed a lot. He released “NASTY – Extended Edition” two weeks later. It extended the nastiness a minute longer (“The ritual is kissing you, giving you dick til’ you- / Come, come, uh”). Now that’s utterly nasty, Russ! Self-produced, sex makes “Nasty” so nasty – duh!

5. Megan Thee Stallion, “Ms. Nasty”
Traumazine // 1501 Certified Entertainment / 300 Entertainment // 2022
“Ms. Nasty, tat it on my ass cheek / Scared to put that pussy on him ‘cause he might harass me / Ms. Nasty, everywhere the cash be / Crop me out that picture ’cause my nigga gon’ be spazzin’.” Spaz/spazz is considered offensive – specifically ableist and earned other high profiles musicians criticism. Some criticized “Ms. Nasty,” the seventh track from Traumazine because of the use of the offensive word but it wasn’t a significant outcry. Bankroll Got It, Diego Ave, and Shawn “Source” Jarrett produced this nasty song anchored by a hard-hitting beat but thrives with those smooth, warm keys. As always, Megan Thee Stallion is blunt, frank, and unapologetic. Her flow is electrifying. She ups the ante more channeling her Tina Snow persona for this two-minute and ¢hange banger. The sex and swears fly rampantly. In the first verse, she spits, “Leave that sexy shit to me, y’all can ride ‘round with them Glocks / You ain’t comin’ ‘cause she hold the dick the way she hold a Glock (Baow, baow, baow).” Indeed. Verse two: “Suckin’ on that pussy from the back, yeah / Only gangster niggas get it wet, splat.” 😳 😳 😳… Maybe the best lyrics hail from the pre-chorus, which plays out like this:
‘“Cause I want you to dog this cat out, whip it like a trap house (Trap house)
Stand up in that pussy, stomp the yard like a frat house
Put me on the wall, spread it open, do a pat down (Pat down)
Panties to the side, don’t be shy, open wide, ‘cause I’m…”
Just flat-out NASTY!

6. DaBaby, “Nasty” (Ft. Megan Thee Stallion & Ashanti)
Blame it on Baby // Interscope // 2020
“Nasty,” by polarizing rapper, DaBaby, was among the steamiest, nastiest records in 2020. “Nasty” is a highlight from his album, Blame it on Baby. He’s assisted by Grammy-winning rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, and Grammy-winning R&B singer, Ashanti. Ashanti provides the classiest part of this pornographically nasty song. Her 2002 hit, “Baby” is sampled. DaBaby is freaky AF – X-rated in his sexual endeavors. “She know I’m nasty / She like it when I pull it out and I put it all over her ass cheeks,” he raps in the first verse, adding, “I take both her legs and I put ‘em behind her head like she a pretzel / Then I pick her up and slam her down on her head like I’m a wrestler…” Woah, Nelly! Perhaps ‘she’ does indeed benefit, but we don’t know until Megan Thee Stallion puts her two cents in about the level of pleasure in the equally filthy second verse:
“Quit talking that shit, when I drop that pin, come drop that dick
He deep in them covers, this pussy like butter, he put it in damn near nutted
…I put one leg on the headboard and leave the other leg on the mattress
Look down at him while he smackin’ get them headshots like a actress.”
Smackin’ – OMG! There’s more filth from DaBaby, who segues into a third verse, which includes exercise: “I’m doing my push-ups in that pussy.” Yes, absolutely TF “Nasty.”

7. Gunna, “NASTY GIRL / ON CAMERA”
WUNNA // Yung Stoner Life / 300 Entertainment // 2020
Nasty. Shallow. Those are two perfect characterizations of “NASTY GIRL / ON CAMERA,” the 2020 two-part song by Grammy-nominated rapper, Gunna. Depth is not the modus operandi. Sex, however, is. “NASTY GIRL / ON CAMERA,” the 12th track from WUNNA, was produced by Thank You Fizzle, Taurus, and Wheezy (“Wheezy outta here!”). In part one, “NASTY GIRL,” Gunna sings about all the nasty things he and she does. In the chorus, he’s “Pullin’ her curls, fuckin’ me a nasty girl.” Charming 😬. In the first verse, he’s “diggin’ in her body, got her bustin’ on the sheets / And she like it nasty, so I call her freak-a-leek (Nasty) / I’ma play my music while I stroke her to the beat (Stroke) / Fuck her like a beast.” Wow… He also has a specific type: “I hire freaky bitches, they don’t gotta have degrees.” Uneducated sex is better, says Gunna. “ON CAMERA” keeps the sex raunchy. Adding to the level of freakiness and nastiness is the camera. “I told her twerk for the camera / She wanna suck it on camera,” he raps in the chorus, adding, “I let my shit hang like a banner / Her mouth on my head like bandanas.” Holy shit! Gunna also drops a verse where he “Was piped when I met her, we swipe like the scammer.” “NASTY GIRL / ON CAMERA” is straightforward… sex, sex, and more sex.

8. A$AP Ferg, “Nasty (Who Dat)” (Ft. Migos)
Still Striving // RCA// 2017
“Your bitch been a fan while she hittin’ my jack / Another deal with Adidas ‘cause I’m feelin’ like that.” Ooh-wee! In his 2017 banger, “Nasty (Who Dat)” from Still Striving, A$AP Ferg enlisted the services of the ubiquitous rap trio Migos (R.I.P., Takeoff). Offset sits “Nasty” out, as Takeoff and Quavo trade bars in the verse. A$AP Ferg doesn’t let Migos take over – he is the star. The hook, introduced at the top of the song, is catchy, if a hair annoying: “Ay, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya… / Who dat, who dat, who dat…” In this track with a nontraditional form, Ferg follows the hook with a bridge (excerpted at the top of this blurb) and a refrain… or pre-chorus… whatever you’d like to call it. He concludes the refrain by spitting, “Tonight I fell in love with a stripper / Ferguson can be her last name / Who dat, who dat, who dat on your Insta? / Invite her to my crib, we gettin’ nasty.” You knew that was coming! After that, Takeoff and Quavo do their ‘thang’ for a verse. Quavo memorably, and controversially raps, “Beat the pussy, Ike, Mike Tyson bite (woo).” Ike as in Ike Turner, Quavo? 😳 😳 😳… I’m just going to leave that one there…
9. Mac Miller, “God Is Fair, Sexy Nasty” (Ft. Kendrick Lamar)
The Divine Feminine // Warner // 2016
“Open your legs.” Oh, so nasty, Mac Miller! And for good measure: “All I really wanna do is procreate.” Oh, snap 🫰! The late rapper 😢 references God several times in The Divine Feminine. The first instance is “Planet God Damn”. The title alone breaks one of the Ten Commandments. While the profane title is sinful, “God Is Fair, Sexy, Nasty” is more blasphemous. The final song from The Divine Feminine concludes the album with a bang…no pun intended. Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar guests in the chorus of this eight-minute juggernaut, which has nothing to do with God and all to do with sex. “Hearts on my timeline / Bullet to your rose, then I watch your petal fold,” Lamar spits in the chorus, continuing, “Don’t you know your body been mine? / I know you know I know / Sexy, nasty (Sexy, nasty) / Have no guideline.” Miller raps the two verses with no shortage of lyrical gems. “Tried to give her up but she fuck so well / Man, that bitch so cold, man, that bitch so cold,” he raps in the first. Drugs? A woman? It seems like both, with references to drugs and sex recurring the second verse. “It’s true, and I’ll try everything / Girl, you my sexy, nasty, thing,” he asserts, adding, “She been gettin’ faded all the time, flap your wings / I been gettin’ stoned all week, it make me go too deep.” The final three minutes are an interlude, featuring Mac’s grandmother, Marcia Weiss, expounding upon her relationship with her husband. “God Is Fair, Sexy, Nasty” = a different sort of nasty.

10. T-Wayne, “Nasty Freestyle”
“Nasty Freestyle” // Unauthorized Entertainment // 2015
“First, let me hop out the muh’fuckin’ Porsche / I don’t want her if that ass don’t sit like a horse.” And thus begins the electrifying verse of the one-hit-wonder by T-Wayne, “Nasty Freestyle”. “Nasty Freestyle” runs under two and a half minutes in duration. That was plenty of time for the rapper from Houston to secure a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (it peaked at no. 9). Produced by 30 Roc, the instrumental sounds malicious and is set in a minor key. Notably, it samples the 2014 song “Nasty” by Bandit Gang Marco.
To reiterate, “Nasty Freestyle” thrives because of the memorable verse by T-Wayne. He serves up a brand of hard-nosed, melodic rap. He exudes confidence with no shortage of swagger. His bars are engaging, and he keeps them coming and coming. “Nasty Freestyle” finds him flexing like a boss, whether it’s the fact that his “Dash got so much wood I could build me a fort,” or he’s a baller who “be makin’ hits, I’m the rap Derek Jeter.” Sex plays a role in the nastiness, expectedly:
“I just hit her, and I quit her, I would never, ever date her
It’s a shame how I’m barely getting’ love in the city
Travel to another town, you can bet they fuckin’ with me
I be killin’ this shit, pray to God they forgive me.”
What a shame! Also shameful is that T-Wayne failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 again. What’s not shameful is the undeniable success of his “Nasty Freestyle”, a platinum-certified, whale of a one-hit-wonder.

11. Janet Jackson, “Nasty”
Control // A&M // 1986
“Gimme a beat!” We conclude 11 Engrossing Nasty Songs with the nastiest ‘nasty’ song of all: “Nasty” by Janet Jackson. Cue up the iconic lyrics from the chorus: “Nasty, nasty boys don’t mean a thing / Oh, you nasty boys.” Agreed, Janet! “Nasty” is the second track on her 1986 album, Control. The Grammy-winning R&B/pop artist wrote it with legendary songwriting and production team, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Besides the personality-filled lyrics and playful vocals, the keyboard riff is one of the most distinct in pop music. The percussion and drum programming featured on “Nasty” is quintessential ‘80s. A platinum-certified single, “Nasty” peaked at no. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, one of 27 top-10 hits.
“Nasty,” fittingly, is filled with nastiness. In the first verse, Jackson judges him hard. “Sittin’ in the movie show, thinkin’ nasty thoughts, ha / Better be a gentleman or you’ll turn me off.” Yeah, you nasty boy! In the second verse, filth doesn’t appeal to her: “I don’t like no nasty car, I don’t like no nasty food /… The only nasty thing I like is a nasty groove.” If there was concern Jackson was being high maintenance and stuck up, she dispels it in the bridge, which features one of the most famous lyrics of the song:
“I’m not a prude (no)
I just want some respect (that’s right)
So close the door if you want me to respond (ooh, ooh yeah)
‘Cause privacy is my middle name
My last name is control
No, my first name ain’t baby
It’s Janet, Miss Jackson if you’re nasty.”
Can you say, ICONIC! There is a nasty breakdown section that only ups the ante and sheer excellence of “Nasty”. No other nasty song could’ve concluded 11 Engrossing Nasty Songs.
