10 Rap Songs with Lyrics that Reference Draco features music courtesy of 6ix9ine, BlocBoy JB, Future, Migos, and Rich the Kid.
Rap music is filled with its fair share of controversial subject matter. There’s simply no way around it and no, this is no preachy, moral authority-styled playlist. The prevalence of drugs and sex has long incensed skeptics…parents… many folks. Another controversial thing often captured alongside the hustling and drug use is violence, often involving guns and assault weapons. Even with gun control being a prevalent topic in society with an overabundance of violence, rap music continues to glorify guns. One brand of gun/assault in particular is a favorite – Draco. Each of the 10 songs that appear on this playlist reference Draco at least once within their respective lyrics. Rappers appearing on this violent playlist include 6ix9ine, BlocBoy JB, Future, Migos, and Rich the Kid.
1.6ix9ine, “FEFE” (Ft. Nick Minaj & Murda Beatz)
FEFE – Single • TenThousand Projects • 2018
“Draco got that kick-back when I blow that, they all do track / They don’t shoot back, one shot, close range, red dot… / Call a Uber with my shooter, with a Ruger, we gon’ do ya / N*ggas say they killin’ people, but I really f*ckin’ do it.”
6ix9ine isn’t the most innocent person in the world. Sigh, the young rapper definitely fits the mold of controversial, made even more ‘real’ by 50 Cent joking he’s the rapper’s dad. Yeah… Here, he’s threatening to personally kill with a Draco (AK-47 we assume), while he has a hired “shooter” (hitman) using a Ruger willing to kill. He doesn’t just say it – he does it! Ugh. As for his partner in crime, it seems far-fetched that Nicki Minaj would be willing to commit murder, but whatever. “Ayo, Draco got that kick-back / When it kick-back, you can’t get yo shit back.”
2. A$AP Rocky, “Gunz N Butter” (Ft. Juicy J)
TESTING • RCA • 2018
“Uzi, FN, Ruger, Draco / Euros, pounds and dollars, pesos / Money, hoes and power, Draco / Violence, rifle, shotguns, Draco.” A$AP Rocky seems to be willing to do whatever for money, sex, and power in this excerpt from “Gunz N Butter”. While he mentions Draco the most (three times), he also keeps it violent by name-dropping the Uzi, FN, and Ruger.
3. Migos, “Narcos”
Culture II • Quality Control Music / Motown / Capitol • 2018
“Trapping like the narco (narco) / Got dope like Pablo (Pablo) / Cut throat like Pablo (cut throat) /Chop trees with the Draco (Draco).” Offset handles the excerpted portion of the hook from “Narcos,” a standout on Migos’ overlong, 2018 album, Culture II. Besides referencing Draco at the end of the excerpt, Offset also mentions Pablo Escobar, the oft-reference Colombian drug lord in rap music. Naturally, “chop trees” references the landscape (jungle) of Colombia, as well as the abilities of the specific ‘chopper’ itself.
4. Rich the Kid, “No Question” (Ft. Future)
The World is Yours • Interscope • 2018
“Put a Draco on my hip (put a Draco) / Stella McCartney my drip / Fiji water, don’t slip (Fiji water) / Hunnid round drum, give them shooters a tip (brrt) / Make the body do a flip / F*ck the opps, let it rip.”“No Question” may be a Rich the Kid song, but it is Future who supplies the Draco reference. Here, Future has a loaded gun (with plenty of rounds), expensive designer clothing, and expensive, iced-our jewelry. So, he’s going to be looking fly as a mofo as he kills you. Charming.
5. BlocBoy JB, “Look Alive” (Ft. Drake)
Simi • Bloc Nation • 2018
“Pu—pu—pull up with that Draco (huh?) / Play with Drake and I’ma shoot (that’s on my mama) / My—my—my weapon be a instrument/ I’ll blow you like a flute (rrah).” Music majors everywhere are probably cringing that the beautiful, melodious flute has somehow become associated with a deadly assault weapon. C’mon BlocBoy JB. At least, unlikely Lil Yachty, his musical reference makes sense. Not sure that Yachty will ever live down the “blow the dick like a cello” line…
6. Future, “Draco”
FUTURE • Epic • 2017
“Draco season with the bookbag / Rat tat, got a little kick back / Hundreds on Hundreds, got a good batch / You ain’t never ever get your b*tch back.” Future is as cocky and confident as a four-letter word on “Draco,” his second appearance on this most violent list. He’ll not only kill you with his deadly weapon, but he’ll also ‘steal your girl’ and charm her and spoil her so much that you won’t get her back. Of course, if he kills you first, you won’t get her back anyways…
7. 21 Savage, “Bank Account”
Issa Album • Epic • 2017
“Draco make you do the chicken head like Chingy (Chingy).” That’s just terrifying 21 Savage. The Chicken dance by Chingy isn’t terrifying itself, but one would imagine if an actual Draco AK-47 hit you and made you do it, it wouldn’t be pleasant. If you examine the passage within the particular section of “Bank Account”, perhaps 21 Savage is being more playful – in a violent way – and referencing a Soulja Boy record. Still, there is no shortage of violence on “Bank Account,” with ample gun references including “Ruler clip – umm –, sent a ruler hit… / Clock cocked now, I don’t really give no f**k ‘bout who I hit.” Of course, he also referencing his junk in that context…
8. Rick Ross, “Trap Trap Trap” (Ft. Young Thug & Wale)
Rather You Than Me • Epic • 2017
“So many different meds on me / F**k around, call the Fed on me / Chk-chk, boom boom boom your head, homie, reds / Draco got a lot of lead on it, you dead.” Ah “Trap Trap Trap” –another example of a guest rapper (Young Thug) being the focal point instead of the lead artist (Rick Ross) on this particular playlist! Young Thug will kill you if you call the Feds on him because he’s got a Draco, and we know how deadly Dracos are by this point. Given the song title and the entirety of Thug’s verse, it’s about all about cooking up drugs, hustling – all things trap.
9. A$AP Ferg, “Coach Cartier” (Ft. Famous Dex)
Still Striving • RCA • 2017
“Wait, rainbow shot my b*tch (ah-what) / Draco by me, you know I don’t miss / Dexter.” Famous Dex usurps A$AP Ferg – at least in the Draco department – on “Coach Cartier”. Basically, Dex brags about his abilities in the bedroom as well as his same abilities to hit his target when ‘taking you out.’ Mostly, however, if you analyze the entirety of his verse, it’s all about sex.
10. Migos, “Bad and Boujee” (Ft. Lil Uzi Vert)
Culture • 300 Entertainment • 2017
“Don’t move too fast, I might shoot ya (huh?), Draco bad and boujee (draco), I’m always hangin’ with shooters (brrah), might be posted somewhere secluded (private).” Migos – specifically Quavo – ends our most Draco-nian adventure with a classic. “Bad and Boujee” is most known for the rap trio’s triplet flows and the “Raindrop, droptop” hook, but we also get some violence thrown in. Basically, Quavo might have a hitman hired to kill you right as we speak, sigh.
