Lil Peep, Aminé, and Maren Morris are among the musicians who grace our Mercedes Benz Songs Playlist comprised of 10 songs about Benzes.
Musicians love to sing about cars – American, foreign, or otherwise. In this automotive playlist, the brand of choice for these 10 songs is a Mercedes Benz. The song does not have the full name Mercedes Benz – it can have either or. Without further ado, here are 10 Mercedes Benz songs.
1. Lil Peep, “Benz Truck (Гелик)”
Come over When You’re Sober, Pt. 1, 2017
“Lil Bo Peep with a brand-new bitch / In the back of the club with the GothBoiClique / Iced out teeth on an iced-out whip / With the limousine tints, you can suck my dick / Friends switch up when you in a Benz truck / Always wanna fuck, tell a bitch, ‘Good luck’ / Always wanna fuck ‘cause I just came up / Drugs in my nose, good drugs in my cup.”
Mercedes Benz is a luxury brand – truly elite automobiles. For Lil Peep, his Benz truck represents his come up in the rap game.
2. Aminé, “REDMERCEDES”
2017
“With my n*ggas in my red Mercedes / Attitude like fuck you, pay me / Rolling deeper than Adele when we go out / If the ladies show up, then we show out… / This shit so clean, I put that on my life / Red Mercedes beam, it’s a different type.”
Like Lil Peep, Aminé has “came up.” His choice of vehicle to show his newfound wealth is a Red Mercedes. He admits he’s cocky – he’s got that attitude.
3. Bryson Tiller, “Money Problems / Benz Truck”
True to Self, 2017
“Aye, jump inside the Benz truck / I might sell the Lambo, buy a Benz truck / Or a SLS, gotta pick one / Get my bitch one.”
Times are good for Bryson Tiller. True to Self, his sophomore album, debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200. His debut, T R A P S O U L, was certified platinum. He definitely should have no problem purchasing any of the vehicles he mentions on “Money Problems / Benz Truck.”
4. Kodak Black, “Top Off Benz”
Ft. Young Thug
Painting Pictures, 2017
“Yeah, top off the Benz…/ Chanel seats inside the car dog.” (Young Thug)
“S550 my nig, S550 ya dig.” (Kodak Black)
“We got the top with the sun down / I ride around town with the top down / I peek out the covers like clowns / My water gon’ drown you, my Bentley truck sound proof.” (Young Thug)
Hmm, “Top Off Benz” is an interesting record. While it appears on Painting Pictures, the debut album by Kodak Black, it is dominated by featured guest Young Thug. Young Thug is a different sort of artist to say the least – quite unique and polarizing. His performance on “Top Off Benz” is by far one of his oddest yet. Really, the Mercedes Benz isn’t even important here. It gets even less notable when Young Thug references his Bentley Truck, sigh.
5. Maren Morris, “80s Mercedes”
Hero, 2016
“Still runs good, built to last / Moves like a hula girl on the dash / She ain’t made for practicality / Yeah, I guess she’s just like me.”
We previously analyzed Maren Morris on our Songs Where It’s All About the Numbers | Playlist. Known for her Grammy-winning hit “My Church,” she didn’t do too shabby on “80s Mercedes.” Representative of eclectic, new-look country, the 80s gets a nod here, as Morris states:
“Call me old school, but hey I’m a 90s baby in my 80s Mercedes.”
6. Future, “Benz Friendz (Whatchutola)”
Ft. André 3000
Honest, 2014
“I told that bitch I don’t give a fuck about a Benz, bitch.” – André 3000
“Can’t no Maybach prevent a n*gga from makin’ mula.” – Future
According to Future, “These cars don’t mean shit.” Hmm, interesting considering the fact that Future had several Rolls-Royce Wraith fueled rhymes on the 12 Songs That Name-Drop the Rolls-Royce Wraith | Playlist. One of the quirkiest songs that he’s ever recorded, “Benz Friendz” also ranks among the crème de la crème. He got the legendary André 3000 on the track – that’s worthy of a victory lap itself!
7. Lloyd Banks, “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley”
Ft. Juelz Santana
H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2), 2010
“Beamer, Benz or Bentley / Beamer, Benz or Bentley / Beamer, Benz or Bentley / My jeans are never empty, bitch.”
Basically, Lloyd Banks, assisted by Juelz Santana, flexes hard on “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley.” Whatever car they’re driving on whatever given day is fresh to death. Beyond that, what more is there to say?
“I’m fresh, I’m fly, I’m so damn high / More than 500 horses when I roll boy.”
8. Wale, “600 Benz”
Ft. Rick Ross & Jadakiss
MMG Presents: Self Made Vol. 1
“600 Benz, house six hundred grand / That was six years ago, whips come from Japan / I get that work from my face / I get that work from my face / 600 Benz, condo six hundred grand / I got twelve hundred kicks, them bitches straight from Japan / My ambition is wicked I put that shit on my hand / I get that work on my face / I put that shit on my man.”
Essentially, “600 Benz” is another flex track (There’s many of those on this playlist). To the credit of the MCs, they talk about working hard to attain the material things that they sing about. Wale spits during the first verse:
“Shawty when I was 20 I had a Camry and tokens But now I’m okay, bitch I got my shit together Rozay told me keep on working, shawty you’ll be rich forever Forever my endeavors and I sever my opponents.”
He later goes on to say, “This that I been grindin’ ‘cause I’ve been savin’ for that Benz flow.”
9. Rick Ross, “Maybach Music III”
Ft. T.I., Jadakiss & Erykah Badu
Album: Teflon Don, 2010
“I came alive like a moth in the summertime / Japanese wheel blades all samurai / Shine brighter than them bitches on the other side / Time to make a blind motherfucker recognize.”
Rick Ross has been reliable for Benz songs throughout his career. Two words: “Maybach Music.” “Maybach Music III,” which hails from Teflon Don is a personal favorite, but here is the list of Maybach Music songs that have graced his discography.
“Maybach Music,” Ft. Jay-Z, Trilla, 2008
“Maybach Music 2,” Ft. Rick Ross, T-Pain & Kanye West, Deeper Than Rap, 2009
“Maybach Music III,” Ft. T.I., Jadakiss & Erykah Badu, Teflon Don, 2010
“Maybach Music IV,” Ft. Ne-Yo, God Forgives I Don’t, 2012
“Maybach Music V,” Ft. DeJ Loaf, Rather You Than Me, 2017
10. Janis Joplin, “Mercedes Benz”
Pearl, 1971
“Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz / My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends / Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends / So Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz.”
“Mercedes Benz” is a classic, period. While it seems unlikely that God will answer a prayer about a luxury item, who am I to say Joplin’s petition will fall on deaf ears? She also wants a color TV and a night on the town. The last two seem more realistic – Benzes are expensive!
