Trey Songz, Tremaine the Album © AtlanticTrey Songz continues to build anticipation for his seventh album, ‘Tremaine the Album’ with fourth single, “She Lovin It.”

Trey Songz isn’t taking any chances when it comes to promoting Tremaine the Album, his seventh studio album.  Perhaps it’s because Tremaine arrives nearly three years after Trigga.  Face it – R&B isn’t exactly igniting the charts on fire.  Interestingly, “She Lovin It” is the fourth single that he’s issued ahead of the new album.  Arguably, it’s the most infectious, thriving once more off of Songz’s knack for singing about sex.

“She Lovin It” starts off quite different from the previous Tremaine singles.  Acoustic guitar! Initially, it seems as if Trigga is going in a different, more pop-oriented R&B direction.  Ultimately, that’s not the case.  Soon enough, the urban contemporary cues are as ripe as ever.  It doesn’t change the game, but Trey excels in the vein. Even at times when contemporaries like Usher and Chris Brown were trying their hand at pop, Songz kept it soulful.

What exactly is she lovin? Trey’s favorite three-letter word: sex.  On the second verse, he completely denies her denial to do it.

“She said that she don’t wanna be fucked
I said, ‘Why the hell are you sleeping naked?’
She told me she ain’t ready, oh no
But that shy girl shit kinda overrated.”

While he essentially blames her for the action, Trey doesn’t seem the least bit reluctant to take credit for his sexual prowess.

“She said she love it when I get her off.”

Final Thoughts

Once more, Trey Songz nails it… not literally. “She Lovin It” is a perfect fit.  It doesn’t push him out of his box, but as the old saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
