Rick Ross, I Think She Like Me ยฉ EpicRick Ross is cocky and confident on flex-track, โ€œI Think She Like Me.โ€ He gets a great assist from Ty Dolla $ign.ย

Luxurious rap.ย  That describes Rick Ross to a tee.ย  The Boss lost some of his oomph following his Grammy-nominated album, God Forgives, I Donโ€™t. Thatโ€™s no knock on his three follow-up efforts โ€“ Mastermind, Hood Billionaire, or Black Market โ€“ but none packed the same punch critically or commercially. ย Ahead of his forthcoming 2017 album, Ross drops a soulful, luxurious promo single, โ€œI Think She Like Me.โ€

ย โ€œI Think She Like Meโ€ represents Rick Ross in his element.ย  Opening with a soul sample courtesy of The Stylistics (โ€œPeople Make the World Go Roundโ€), the lush production work is fuel for his lyrical fire.ย  Sure, heโ€™s not dropping innovative new lyrics, but the ability to flex and flex hard is worth something.ย  For example, he slyly injects a masturbatory reference for the millionth time, but it still works.

โ€œEvery nut I bust really, I gotta do it twice.โ€

In addition to his confident lyrics, Ross enlists the services of Ty Dolla $ign.ย  While Ty Dolla $ign has become a bit saturated โ€“ too ubiquitous โ€“ he fits the hook.

โ€œUh, I think she like me
Oh, I think she like me
I know her nigga donโ€™t like me
With your bitch right now? Yeah, I might beโ€ฆโ€

Should Rick have allowed his partner in crime his own verse? Arguably, but contextually, the selfishness of Ross is respectable.ย  He needed a big single to reignite the base, and he delivers.

Final Thoughtsย

On โ€œI Think She Like Me,โ€ Rick Ross doesnโ€™t reinvent the wheel.ย  He didnโ€™t need to.ย  All in all, โ€œI Think She Like Meโ€ gives the Miami MC a sound banger.ย  Nothing new, but Ross is on his โ€œAโ€ game.
