 Singer/songwriter Passenger – aka Michael David Rosenberg – returns with new single, “Anywhere.” “Anywhere” serves as the second single from Passenger’s forthcoming studio album, Young as the Morning Old as the SeaYoung arrives in late September.  While that’s a few weeks off, “Anywhere” sufficiently whets the listener’s palate.   

“Anywhere” features a relatively fast tempo with a breezy, light sound. A distinctive, recurrent riff gives this record a clear identity. Speaking of clear, clarity characterizes the vocals by Passenger. His distinct pipes beautiful paint the backdrop. Passenger never has to fight the production; it’s poised and perfectly assembled.

Some other highlights of “Anywhere” include an excellent chord progression. The refrain wins the nod for best progression. Besides Passenger’s awesome lead vocals, strong backing vocals support him on the refrain.  Finally, there’s a wonderful assortment of sounds– guitar, organ, wind instruments, etc. All in all, “Anywhere” is well-written. Pleasant throughout its course, Passenger’s vocals are beautiful and distinct as ever. Exceptional production allows for a variety of sounds without inhibiting the singer/songwriter.
