MOD SUN, Gucci Nail © RostrumMOD SUN introduces the world to his “Gucci Nail,” and it’s truly something… “Gucci Nail” follows previous single, “We Do This Shit” featuring Dej Loaf.

Take one listen to “Gucci Nail” and it’s crystal clear that MOD SUN is one of a kind.  In preparation for his upcoming album, the Minnesota rapper clearly aims to stand out from the rest of the pack – in the most nonconformist-conformist ways.  “Gucci Nail” is a sight – rather a sound – to behold.

The record opens with distortion, followed by lower-pitched vocals.  The vocals are cliché in rap, but that doesn’t make them any less appropriate or enjoyable.  The production work is excellent, particularly the drum programming.  “Gucci Nail” is drenched in swagger.  So…what is “Gucci Nail” really about?

Literally, “Gucci Nail” is about a Gucci Nail!  XXL literally has a write-up about Gucci Nail.

“Boy, let me see those Gucci Nails”

WTF.  It’s eccentric, but appealing as albeit.  The hook is infectious:

“They walk up in the spot and ask them / ‘what’s up with that Gucci Nail?’ / That Gucci Nail, oh yeah I want that Gucci Nail…”

Final Thoughts

“Gucci Nail” is the type of track to leave you speechless – what can really be said? It’s literally about a Gucci nail – literally.  It’s not profound, but as eccentric and random as it may be, MOD SUN flexes and shows off his “Gucci Nail” like a champ.
