THELIGHTS, RUSH | Song Review 🎵

just checked out “RUSH,” the new single from London-based experimental duo THELIGHTS, and this one hits. It’s a track which speaks volumes and you can feel it in your chest, almost like the rush of life.

From the first few seconds, we are pulled into a cinematic soundscape built on bold synths and reverb-soaked vocals. Also, there is a hypnotic, pulsing energy running through it that creates a real sense of urgency. It evolves as it progresses, keeping us locked in and curious about what’s coming next.

THELIGHTS are a duo made up of SLND on vocals and lyrics, and DEETZSCHK on the beats and visuals and they really lean into contrast. You can hear the unexpected influences too (you can hear Chaka Demus & Pliers vibe woven into the electronic textures), which somehow works perfectly with their raw sound.

“RUSH” feels emotional too—like it’s tapping into those intense highs and lows we all go through. Also, what I love most is that it doesn’t tell you exactly what to feel—it lets you take your own meaning from it.
