The Drip is Real on These 11 Songs [Photo Credits: 300 Entertainment, Atlantic, Epic, Generation Now, Interscope, Island, Mad Love, Motown, Quality Control Music, Pexels, Pixabay, Winmore]ā€œThe Drip šŸ’¦ is Real on These 11 Songsā€ features some stellar, drippinā€™ music courtesy of Cardi B, Jack Harlow, Lil Baby & Gunna, and Tory Lanez. Ā

ā€œLemme tell you ā€˜bout the drip / Credit credit charged up, hope my mom donā€™t flip / Gucci gun, Margiela clip / Got the Louis V beat and the Fendi ad-lib.ā€Ā  Tiny Meat Gang (YouTube personalities Cody Ko and Noel Miller) seem to nail the ā€˜dripā€™ action ā€˜right on the headā€™ on their parody track, ā€œDrip.ā€Ā  The thing is, the artists featured on this #TeamDrip, drippinā€™ playlist seem to take things more seriously.Ā  Previously the playlist 10 Urban Songs That Either Drip or Drop incorporated five songs that fit the criteria of being #TeamDrip.Ā  The criteria? Feature the word ā€˜dripā€™ in their respective song title.Ā  Those five songs are reprised on The Drip šŸ’¦ is Real on These 11 Songs, which adds six newbies to the fold, courtesy of The Backpack Kid, City Girls, Jack Harlow, Lil Baby & Gunna, T.I., and Tory Lanez.

1. Jack Harlow, ā€œDrip Dropā€

Ft. CyHi The Prynce

Loose ā€¢ Generation Now / Atlantic ā€¢ 2018

Jack Harlow, Loose [Photo Credits: Generation Now / Atlantic]ā€œYeah, this shit knockinā€™ / And she, and she, she tryinā€™ give nogginā€™ / Tryinā€™ show the younginā€™ what the tip-top is / But see me, Iā€™m just tryinā€™ see what the drip-drop is.ā€ If you havenā€™t had the pleasure of hearingĀ Jack HarlowĀ yet, youā€™re totally missing out.Ā  The young rapper from Louisville, Kentucky doesnā€™t look like your typical hip-hop artist, but proves he has bars, particularly on his brief single ā€œSundownā€ from his 2018 album, Loose. As awesome as ā€œSundownā€ is, the song at hand, ā€œDrip Drop,ā€ is ā€˜the catā€™s meowā€™ itself, bringing CyHi The Prynce along for the ride.

Throughout his verse, Jack Harlow spits plenty of game, aka he ā€˜talks a lot of shit.ā€™Ā  Thatā€™s pretty typical of rap, as Harlow focuses on flexing and most of all, sex.Ā  CyHi The Prynce brings the same attitude to the second verse asserting at the top, ā€œDrip droppinā€™ / Call the maintenance man, I donā€™t fix faucets.ā€ For CyHi, itā€™s material and of course, sexing.Ā  His best line?

ā€œShe vegan so I hit her with the eggplantšŸ†, huh
Her daddy rich so, so Iā€™m Stedman, huh.ā€

2. Cardi B, ā€œDripā€

Ft. Migos

Invasion of Privacy ā€¢ Atlantic ā€¢ 2018

Cardi B, Invasion of Privacy Ā© Atlanticā€œCame through drippinā€™ (drip drip) / Diamonds on my wrist, they drippinā€™.ā€ Cardi B had an incredible year in 2018, releasing her Grammy-nominated debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Assisted by Migos, Cardi and the boys flex hard, slaughtering the competition (and haters) on this drip anthem, which incorporates numerous pop culture references including ultra-lux rides (Mercedes, Bentley) and celebrities (Kimbo Slice, Tina Turner, and Cal Ripken, Jr.) among other things.

ā€œGive me little something to remember
Tryna make love in a Sprinter
Quick to drop a nigga like Kimbo
Lookinā€™ like a right swipe on Tinder
šŸ’©Shit on these hoes
Light up my wrist on these hoes
Now I look down on these bitches
I feel like Iā€™m on stilts on these hoesā€¦ā€

ā€œDripā€ appears on the original ā€˜dripā€™ list, 10 Urban Songs That Either Drip or Drop.

3. T.I., ā€œBig Ol Dripā€

Ft. WATCH THE DUCK

Dime Trap ā€¢Ā Epic ā€¢Ā 2018

T.I., DIME TRAP [Photo Credits: Epic]ā€œAll that stuff you buyinā€™, it donā€™t mean shit / On some boost your self-esteem shit ā€˜cause you ainā€™t seen shit / Callinā€™ me an activist, stumbled on it by accident / You can see Iā€™m passionate but not a politician though.ā€ In the 00s, T.I. was one of the biggest, most popular, commercially successful rappers.Ā  The Grammy-award winner was definitely a fixture beyond the Atlanta rap scene.Ā  The 10s werenā€™t quite as kind, but nonetheless, ā€˜King of the Southā€™ returned in 2018 with a respectable new album, Dime Trap. On the song ā€œBig Ol Drip,ā€ T.I. continues a trend of ā€˜dripā€™ songs, assisted by WATCH THE DUCK, who also appeared on his 2014 album, Paperwork.

DUCK further amplifies the soulful dimension of the record with his distinct, gritty vocals:

ā€œYou donā€™t know the risk if you ainā€™t carried the weight
If you ainā€™t never been down the road that wasnā€™t already paved
Some shit I donā€™t remember, and some Iā€™ll never forget
Ainā€™t nobody give me nothinā€™, ainā€™t nobody tell me shit
Big olā€™ drip.ā€

As always, T.I. brings the heat, with a compelling flow and respectable bars on both of his verses (excerpted at the top of the blurb). The production itself has old-school qualities, combined with delightful southern rap cues ā€“ brassy synths and a sick beat.

4. Lil Baby & Gunna, ā€œDrip Too Hardā€

Drip Harder ā€¢ Quality Control Music / 300 Entertainment ā€¢Ā 2018

Lil Baby & Gunna, Drip Harder [Photo Credits: 300 Entertainment / Capitol / Motown]Lil BabyĀ has had a great year in 2018 ā€“ understatement. His brief, collaborative record with Drake, ā€œYes Indeedā€, helped to ā€˜fuel the fireā€™ for a successful album,Ā Harder Than Ever.Ā Post-studio album, Lil Baby teams up with Gunna forces for the 2018 mixtape, Drip Harder. Given the drippinā€™ title, itā€™s not shocking that the tape also has a ā€˜title trackā€™ or sorts, the brief, ā€˜flexā€™ banger, ā€œDrip Too Hardā€. ā€œDrip Too Hardā€ clocks in at just about two-and-a-half minutes, similar to ā€œYes Indeed.ā€ Baby performs the first verse, rapping about luxury, drugs, and status.

The chorus that follows up is lengthy and not exactly ā€˜catchy.ā€™

ā€œDrip too hard, donā€™t stand too close
You gonā€™ fuck around and drown off this wave
Doinā€™ all these shows, Iā€™ve been on the road
I donā€™t care where I go as long as I get paid
Bad lilā€™ vibe, she been on my mind
Soon as I get back, she gettinā€™ slayedā€¦ā€

Gunna performs the second verse, referencing material (ā€œDiamonds dancinā€™ in the dial like this shit is a paradeā€), ā€œbitches gettinā€™ savedā€ (Totally not Biblical), and status. Sure, the record fits our needs on this bitchinā€™, drippinā€™ list to a ā€˜T,ā€™ but itā€™s certainly NOT transcendent.

5. City Girls, ā€œDripā€

Girl Code ā€¢Ā Quality Control Music / Motown / Capitol ā€¢Ā 2018

City Girls, Girl Code [Photo Credits: Quality Control Music / Motown / Capitol]ā€œDrip-drip-drip on a hundred / Yā€™all hoes hateā€¦ / Icy, this pussy pricey, these niggas like / Wanna buy me and fly me private, wonā€™t ask politely / Weā€™re the hottest, these bitches know it, these niggas too / I will call a bitch my sis and be fuckinā€™ on my boo.ā€ Wowā€¦ thatā€™s pretty cold right thereā€¦ Anyways, ā€œDripā€ appears as the 10th track on City Girlsā€™ 2018 sophomore album, Girl Code (their debut project, Period, was also released in 2018). Ā City Girls saw their profile elevated thanks to appearing in one of 2018ā€™s hottest songs, Drakeā€™s ubiquitous ā€œIn My Feelingsā€.

For the girls, they arenā€™t playing around, yet in one sense, they are literally (a f-word comes to mind) . JT asserts on the first verse, ā€œI be doinā€™ shit bitches never do / I make a jealous bitch sick, yes, she got the flu.ā€ Yung Miami is actually worse on the second verse, first asserting, ā€œAnd my main boo never trip ā€˜cause this pussy good as shit,ā€ before taking things to an even freakier level.

ā€œPull them Bickies to the side, I call that designer head
Eenie, meenie, moe, I fuck him, I fuck his bro
Do they love me? I donā€™t know, ā€˜cause Iā€™m all about my dough
Nigga, I donā€™t wanna snuggle, let him fuck, he wanna cuddle
You know I got that drip, you look down, you see a puddle šŸ’¦.ā€

6. The Backpack Kid, ā€œDrip on Boatā€

Ft. Swaghollywood

SwagPack Kid (EP) ā€¢Ā Winmore ā€¢Ā 2018

The Backpack Kid, SwagPack Kid (EP) [Photo Credit: Winmore]ā€œToo much drip on me, yeah I need a boat.ā€ Definitely sounds like a lot of drippinā€™ there The BackPack Kid.Ā  Who is The BackPack Kid? Ah, heā€™s the Georgia teen (Russell Horning) who created the viral dance sensation known as the Floss. Horning has done very well from himself since achieving viral success, including appearing on SNL with Katy Perry, as well as appearing in the music video for ā€œSwish Swishā€.Ā  2018 saw Horning release his debut, 10-minute EP, SwagPack Kid, featuring the song at hand, ā€œDrip on Boat.ā€

The BackPack Kid is assisted by Swaghollywood on the first half of the chorus, before he drops the aforementioned lyrics.Ā  Naturally, on the pop-rapped verses, Horning brags about how awesome he is, much like most rappers. Give him credit though ā€“ he does it sans profanity and tasteless, objectifying references to girls.Ā

ā€œToo much drip on me, gotta learn how to float
I got on designer from my head to my toes
I ainā€™t asked for help, yeah, I did it on my own
I donā€™t see a hater, you can get up out my zone.ā€

7. Rich the Kid, ā€œDrippinā€

Ft. Chris Brown

The World is Yours ā€¢ Interscope ā€¢ 2018

Rich the Kid, The World is Yours Ā© Interscopeā€œBaby girl like the ocean / Deep sea when Iā€™m stroking / She changed her hair, I donā€™t notice / But that pussy keep me focusedā€¦ā€ One word perfectly describes Rich the Kid and ā€œDrippin,ā€ which appears on his 2018 debut album, The World is Yours: clichĆ©.Ā  You could also throw ā€˜shallowā€™ into the mix, because sex dominates the record.Ā  Honestly, ā€œDrippinā€ focuses specifically on the female genitals. Also, in the drippinā€™ mix are references to foreign cars (Ferrari, Rolls-Royce Wraith), lux brands (Chanel), and long hair (Rapunzel).

Uber and Chevrolet also get thrown in the mix:Ā  ā€œAnd her hair real long like Rapunzel / My Puerto Rican bitch, she thick and keep the bundles / Pull up in it, oh I pull it out (pull it out) / Pussy good, need that shit like every timeā€¦ā€ It should also be noted that Chris Brown serves as a featured guest on this record, which appeared on the original ā€˜dripā€™ list, 10 Urban Songs That Either Drip or Drop.

8. Tory Lanez, ā€œDrIP DrIp Dripā€

Ft. Meek Mill

LoVE me NOw ā€¢ Mad Love / Interscope ā€¢Ā 2018

Tory Lanez, Love Me Now [Photo Credits: Mad Love / Interscope]ā€œStacks all on me / Big drip on me / Faucet on me / Iā€™m dripping waterā€¦ / She like it on me, ayy, she like it on me / Drip, drip, drip!ā€ Believe it or not, Canadian rapper/singer Tory Lanez released two studio albums in 2018 ā€“ MEMORIES DONā€™T DIE and LoVE me NOw.Ā  MEMORIES DONā€™T DIE had its moments, but it also continued to find Lanez struggling to find an artistic identity.Ā  Whether he fixed that on LoVE me NOw I canā€™t personally attest to ā€“ it appeared on that non-existent ā€˜albums I skipped in 2018ā€™ list.Ā  But we give Mr. Lanez some credit for ā€œDrIP DrIp Drip,ā€ a single featuring Philly rapper Meek Mill.

Ā

Like the aforementioned lyrics suggest, Tory Lanez is hella confident about himself, as are the girls who are into him.Ā  Shocker.Ā  On the first verse, he comes right out and says, ā€œShe wanna fuck well itā€™s dependinā€™ yā€™knowā€¦,ā€ later asserting ā€œThick bitches wanna ride.ā€ Itā€™s clichĆ© AF, but hey, weā€™ve got a whole list of drippinā€™ going on ourselves soā€¦ Meek Mill is turned up as well, bragging, ā€œBad bitches been fucking me fast,ā€ and shares with us that he ā€œHad a threesome the same day I went to trial.ā€Ā  The power of the drip, not to mention stimulation.

9. Luke James, ā€œDripā€

Drip ā€“ Single ā€¢ Island ā€¢ 2017

Luke James, Drip Ā© Islandā€œDeal with your emotion (ooh) deal with them / Dive into the ocean (ooh) dive in, dive in / Everything is open (ooh) everything is open baby / Youā€™re the one thatā€™ chosen (mmm oh) / Let it dripā€¦ā€ Grammy-nominated R&B musician Luke James is a stud ā€“ name me any man or woman that will deny that fact.Ā  Besides his good looks, the man can also sing like a ā€˜mofo.ā€™Ā  Again, find me any man or woman that will deny that fact either.Ā  The falsetto featured on Ā ā€œI Want Youā€ serves as the proof in case you needed any.Ā  This isnā€™t about ā€œI Want You,ā€ or Jamesā€™ looks, but rather his own contributions to the drippinā€™ experience, ā€œDrip.ā€

ā€œDripā€ is chocked-full of sexual innuendo and sometimes outright sex, but also encompasses emotional support and encouragement.Ā  Unlike many of the other drippinā€™ numbers that appear on this playlist, there is only one notable pop cultural reference: Janet Jackson.

ā€œFeeling on your booty but Iā€™d rather feel your soul (soul) soul
Girl I know you ainā€™t Janet but I like you in control.ā€Ā

ā€œDripā€ appears on the original ā€˜dripā€™ list, 10 Urban Songs That Either Drip or Drop.

10. Future & Young Thug, ā€œDrip on Meā€

Super Slimey ā€¢ Epic / Atlantic ā€¢ 2017

Future & Young Thug, Super Slimey Ā© Epic / Atlanticā€œAll this drop on me (Pluto) / Gotta keep an extra clip on me (I swear, yeah, yeah) / Keep it on me like ID (Future) / Ainā€™t no swag for free (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Freebandz).ā€ On ā€œDrip on Meā€ (Super Slimey),Ā  Future and Young Thug brag about money and material things (shocker), while also rapping about hustling and trapping. In the process, the two idiosyncratic Atlanta rappers reference Pluto (Future), Foreign rides (Bentley, Rolls-Royce Wraith), ultra-lux watches (the ubiquitous Patek Phillipe) ballers (LeBron James), and iconic video games (Sonic the Hedgehog).

Yeah, the ā€˜dripā€™ is real yā€™all:Ā  ā€œYeah, water me down like Pacific, my watch and my chain, my rings / Yeah, all the drip on me, I had to go change my name / I came from Lil Mexico, this shit ainā€™t gonā€™ ever be the same (Free bandz) / I fuck her on the everyday, but she ainā€™t gonā€™ ever get claimed.ā€ ā€œDrip on Meā€ appears on the original ā€˜dripā€™ list, 10 Urban Songs That Either Drip or Drop.

11. Offset & Metro Boomin, ā€œRic Flair Dripā€

Without Warning ā€¢ Epic / Motown / Capitol / Republic ā€¢ 2017

21 Savage, Offset & Metro Boomin, Without Warning Ā© Epic / Capitol / Motown / Republicā€œGoing to the jeweler, bust the AP, yeah / Slide on the water like a jet-ski, yeah / Iā€™m tryna fuck you and your bestie, yeah / Chopper with the scope so do not test me / Ric Flair drip, go ā€˜wooā€™ on a bitch.ā€ Offset flexes like a boss on ā€œRic Flair Drip,ā€ which also pays ode to the famous wrestler, Ric Flair. Though it appears on his collaborative album with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, Without Warning, 21 Savage doesnā€™t appear on this particular, pop culture-rich joint.Ā  Among the numerous pop cultural references? Luxury watches (Audemars Piguet and Patek Phillipe), luxury cars (Lamborghini, Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Wraith) and even more ultra-lux clothing (Balenciaga and Valentino).

ā€œHopping in my Bentayga and her seat is a masseuse (hey)
Balenciaga, check my posture, Valentino boots (oo-oo)
Itā€™s the Boominati way, a lotta Lambs, a lotta Wraiths (Boominati)
Never hesitate to give a nigga yellow tape (grrt).ā€

ā€œRic Flair Dripā€ appears on the original ā€˜dripā€™ list, 10 Urban Songs That Either Drip or Drop.
