Niall Horan, Flicker © CapitolWhat’s the chart scoop? On the Billboard Charts dated November 11, 2017, Niall Horan launches at no. 1 with his debut album, ‘Flicker.’

It was inevitable.  The post-One Direction success continues for Niall Horan, who sees his highly-anticipated debut album, Flicker, live up to the commercial hype.  Flicker easily debuts at no. 1 on the Billboard 200, moving 152,000 units (84%+ traditional sales).  Niall becomes the third member/former member of One Direction to debut at no. 1 (Zayn, Harry Styles).

Besides the triumphant success of Horan, the top 10 gets more fresh blood.  Things get Super Slimey thanks to Future and Young Thug.  The collaborative mixtape launches at no. 2 with a respectable 75,000 units.  Unfortunately, only a small percentage – 20% – were traditional sales. Oh, the power of streaming. Chris Young gets in on the top-five action with Losing Sleep, which moves 39,000 units (82%+ traditional sales). Darius Rucker starts at no. 8 with When Was the Last Time (34,000 units / 88%+ traditional sales).

One artist has every right to be disappointed with her lot on the Billboard 200. Keyshia Cole, who’s performed exceptionally well on the albums chart throughout her career, debuts at a career-low no. 37 with 11:11 Reset.  Ouch. As for the Billboard Hot 100, Post Malone, assisted by 21 Savage, continue to lead the charge with “Rockstar.”
