$uicideboy$, FUCKALLOFYOU2K18 © G59New Orleans rap duo $uicideboy$ – $lick and Ruby Da Cherry – brings the heat on brief, unapologetic single, “FUCKALLOFYOU2K18.”

SoundCloud is a dominant force in the rap world. Up-and-coming New Orleans duo $uicideboy$ – $lick and Ruby Da Cherry – has experienced its share of success on the social-musical platform.  Like so many ‘SoundCloud’ rappers, the next step for the duo is to breakthrough into the mainstream.  Could explicitly-named single “FUCKALLOFYOU2K18” be that mainstream breakthrough? Not necessarily, but there’s lots to like about the record.

One pro working in the favor of “FUCKALLOFYOU2K18” is its duration. Like so many SoundCloud joints, this record clocks in modestly at just under two minutes.  $uicideboy$ lift an irresistible, killer Xzibit hook (“Beat him down, beat him down…”).  The production work is malicious and edgy.  This fits the mold of contemporary rap, but it’s also not far removed from the hardcore-southern rap of old.

“Walk up out the womb, with my middle fingers up / For my cousin, I’m bussing, got the Nina tickets tucked.” $crim takes the first verse, rapping as his alter ego, Lil Remains on the first verse.  His flow is solid, while $crim raps with lower-pitched vocals initially.  Soon enough, he ascends higher into his middle register. Following the Xzibit hook, Ruby Da Cherry raps as his alter ego Romeo Da Black Rose. He’s intense, particularly on the second half.  There are ample f-bombs littered throughout his verse. “Tryna be the most hated motherfucker, fuck a name / Fuck a number, All I see is lame motherfuckers.” Can you say potty mouth?

Final Thoughts

While “FUCKALLOFYOU2K18” is short, it’s sweet – in a most explicit, hardcore way. Again, there’s lots to like about $uicideboy$, as well as lots for the duo to build and expand upon.  Worthwhile listening by all means.
