St. Vincent, Masseduction © Loma VistaAnnie Clark, better known as St. Vincent, returns ferociously on “Los Ageless,” the second single from her forthcoming album, MASSEDUCTION.

Grammy-winning alternative musician St. Vincent is back! After captivating the world with “Digital Witness” and her self-titled album collectively in 2014, she’s dropping MASSEDUCTION (October 13).  In advance of MASSEDUCTION, St. Vincent dropped singles “Los Ageless” and “New York”.

“Los Ageless” features electronic-driven production work, a clear contrast from “New York.”  Additionally, it’s set in a minor key – C minor to be exact.  Annie Clark offers cool vocals on the verses.  Her tone, the vibe, and overall vocal production are selling points. On the first verse, she sets the tone about Los Ageless, a clear play on Los Angeles.

“In Los Ageless, the winter never comes
In Los Ageless, the mothers milk their young...
The Los Ageless hang out by the bar.”

Naturally, the chorus is the crème de la crème.  Here, the vocal production truly stands out. Additionally, the chorus itself is catchy, standing out after one listen.

“How can anybody have you?
How can anybody have you and lose you?
...And not lose their minds, too?”

On the second verse, St. Vincent continues to reference age and social issues.  Fittingly, the bridge marks a lyrical and musical contrast.  Clark is edgier, leading into the final chorus.

“Oh my Lord, oh, we really did it now
I’m a monster and you’re my scared cow
But I can keep running
No, I can keep on running.”

Final Thoughts

All in all, “Los Ageless” is intriguing from start to finish.  The production is superb, the songwriting alluring, and the vocal production on-point.  The extended outro is another selling point. With no glaring flaws, “Lose Ageless” is unique and well-rounded.
