NF, No Name © CapitolNate Feuerstein, better known as NF, delivers more fire on single “No Name,” which picks up where hit album ‘Perception’ left off.

“I leave it all on the stage.” NF (Nathan Feuerstein), had a fantastic year in 2017.  His biggest accomplishment was earning his first no. 1 album with Perception, a strong album by all means.  Post-Perception, he drops a new single, “No Name,” which is straight bars.  “No Name” commences with foreboding production work, consisting of heavy, dramatic piano, and eventually synths and trap percussion. Given the sound of the record, it’s hard to believe that NF is categorized as a Christian rapper.  Furthermore, it’s hard to believe that supposed Christian rap can ‘go so hard.’ It does.

In addition to the production, there’s a number of selling points regarding “No Name.” NF continues to impress with his electrifying flow, spitting with incredible agility and packing a punch with his rhymes.  He reflects on his ‘come up’ and his plane to continue rapping into old age (“I’ll be doin’ this at 83”).  He follows up that line with the beginnings of his rap career (“I’ve been doin’ this since ABCs / In the major leagues doin’ major things, don’t play with me, woo!”). In a number of instances, he reflects on numerous things.

Final Thoughts

Once again, NF shows he’s a bright spot in hip-hop music, Christian or otherwise.  “No Name” isn’t game changing, groundbreaking, or otherwise, but it is another solid performance by all means. Great production, great flow, and strong rhymes make “No Name” a winner.
