Ah, the second music shopping list of November 2017! To recap, November 3, 2017 featured new albums courtesy of Sam Smith, Maroon 5, and Kid Rock among others.  This week is not quite as jam-packed. That said, there’s one album that stands out in particular.  That album is reputation, courtesy of Taylor Swift.  Yes, this week it’s Taylor Swift and everybody else. No disrespect.

 

 

 

1. Taylor Swift, reputation

Taylor Swift returns after a three-year hiatus with reputation, which marks her second official pop album (sixth album overall).  Reputation follows her Grammy-winning, multi-platinum pop debut, 1989.  Comprised of 15 songs, singles …Ready for It?,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Gorgeous,” and “Call It What You Want” arrived in advance of the album.

2. WALK THE MOON, What If Nothing

Walk the Moon, What if Nothing © RCAWell, somebody else had to come out the same week as Taylor Swift, right? Right. WALK THE MOON takes “one for the team” by releasing its third studio album, What If Nothing the same day as reputationWhat If Nothing arrives three years after Talking Is Hard (2014), the album that spawned massive hit “Shut Up and Dance.” What if Nothing is comprised of 13 tracks, with singles Headphones,” “One Foot,” and “Surrender” arriving in advance of its release.

3. Evanescence, Synthesis

Calling it a proper studio album might be a stretch – there’s only two new songs, while the rest of the material is reworked, orchestral versions of past songs.   Synthesis arrives six years after the last Evanescence album, simply titled, Evanescence (2011).  Comprised of 16 tracks, singles “Lacrymosa,” “Bring Me to Life (Synthesis)” and Imperfectionwere issued in advance of the album.

4. Tracy Lawrence, Good Ole Days

Tracy Lawrence, Good Ole Days © Lawrence Music GroupVeteran country musician Tracy Lawrence returns with a new studio album, Good Ole DaysGood Ole Days serves as the follow-up to Headlights, Taillight and Radios, which arrived in 2013.  Comprised of 11 tracks, singles “Can’t Break It to My Heart,” Ft. Jason Aldean, “Good Ole Days” ft. Brad Arnold and Big & Rich, “Texas Tornado” ft. Dustin Lynch, “Stars over Texas” ft. Kellie Pickler, and “Finally Home,” Ft. Craig Morgan arrived in advance of the album.  Besides the aforementioned guests, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, and Chris Young are among the star-studded guests.

5. Elton John, Diamonds

Elton John, Diamonds © IslandElton John is back…with a greatest hits compilation that is.  No, Diamonds isn’t the follow-up to Wonderful Crazy Night, but it is a remastered edition of the many gems John has released throughout his career.  Comprised of three discs in its physical edition and 51 tracks, seven remastered tracks were issued in advance of the compilation: “Tiny Dancer,” “Saturday Night’s Alright (for Fighting),” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” “I’m Still Standing,” “I Guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues,” and “Sacrifice.”
