Music Shopping List: A Subtle Start to January 2017

New efforts from Halestorm, Dropkick Murphys, Jimi Cravity, and Jefe make up the music shopping list for the first Friday in January 2017.

Ah, a new year and a new music shopping list.  Unfortunately for music purchasing enthusiasts, the first week in January is never a prolific one.  January 6, 2017 doesn’t yield a wealth of electrifying choices, but new projects appear from Halestorm, Dropkick Murphys, Jimi Cravity, and Jefe.  Next week – January 13, 2017 – should be more promising by all means.

1) Halestorm, ReAniMate 3.0: The CoVeRs eP

Rock band Halestorm drops a six-track EP of covers – just as the title suggests.

2) Dropkick Murphys, 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory

Veteran punk band Dropkick Murphys returns after a four-year hiatus with 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory.  11 Short Stories serves as the follow-up to Signed and Sealed in Blood (2013).

3) Jimi Cravity, Heaven – EP

Up-and-coming musician Jim Cravity drops a new EP, Heaven.  His previous EP, Maverick, was a rock effort.  Heaven is in the Christian music realm.

4) Jefe, The World Is Yours
